Seriously dislike Dan Prosser tho'. I can just about stand Frankel, but the only truly worthy podcast to listen to is Collecting Addicts. Smith & Sniff are just flogging banal and pointless catchphrases..........."onteresting".

Haymarket sold PH to CarGurus five years ago laugh
Thanks for the reminder! I was trying to remember what the shakeup was that sent the mediocre PH 'content' off a cliff. It was the move to CarGurus! No more Brave Pill etc, never getting drives in press cars any more so resorting to regurgitated advertorials, every article just a desperate attempt to drive clicks to the crappy classifieds.

It's a bit of a shambolic state for the brand but nothing more than the plunderers wanted.
Your memory doesn't appear to be very clear. In the last three years alone I counted there have been 125 Brave Pill articles, and there's no need to try counting road tests - they're published at least every week (a clue, they're in Home-News-Driven wink). There's even one published today. smile

If you want to continue to bash PH, perhaps at least get your facts straight.

Carmudgeon is the only car podcast worth listening to. I like Smith & Sniff too, but it's rarely about cars so I don't count it on that side of things.

Oh dear, I've never heard of The Intercooler. So much for calling myself a pistonhead.

I quite like it and I may subscribe subject to finding the time to read all the material which I have already got subscriptions for.
+1 me too

I read the press release for this on Intercooler on IG. It made me chuckle when it said "auctions work for buyers because you know your paying what a cars worth"

Err no. Auctions are great for sellers. But they drive prices up for buyers as the FOMO kicks in. And nothing turns off buyers like feeling they've overpaid.

The people behind Collecting Cars have made a fortune from their set up. But a glance at the Trustpilot reviews suggests far from everyone is happy when a car is not as described. DK are clearly linked to Carhuna. But they seem short on inventory so are chucking their own cars in to boost interest.

I fail to see why trying to start up another auction organisation is going to be any better received.

In terms of the content TI puts out. Thus far they have not convinced me they are worth subscribing to. The CC podcasts used to be good when it was an indepth long form interview with someone interesting. The "mates in a shed talking about great times we've had" style its become has left me no longer bothering.

Not sure about the appeal of podcasts of someone droning on about whatever automotive topic.
They are good to listen to when doing something else. For me that's when I'm on a long walk or a long drive. Can do 3-4 episodes on the schlep from Kent to "interesting roads" and back.

You're right, I think I block it out now. Had to unsubscribe as it used to grate but now I don't notice - the non you-know content from Frankel is usually well worth listening to.
