I shouldn’t like this but I do.

The previous Sport SV was silly & fun but I suspect tedious as a long term partner.

This looks like a much tamer & more civilised proposition.

Not something I would buy even if I could afford it, but I wouldn't expect getting on for 200 grand, though I expect discounts on that given the way the market as gone and the other factors around these cars.
Discounts, bounce
Currently there are going for overs !

Gonna be funny see the school run mums finding out kerbing the wheels is now a £6k mistake rather than £100 for a repaint.

I can't see why anyone thinks or want to spend that amount on this ,looks 85k tops maybe I'm out of touch but performance aside it does mot look inside or out something special ,I'd rather have x5 competition .
The X5 Competition starts at £128k and I imagine most are closer to £150k by the time a few options are added. This car is more expensive, sure, but probably not unreasonably so.
As they share the same engine I'm not sure why the RR is £30k more. X5M comp for me too.

Spot on!
Every single SVR I see out on the road is being driven like a t*** !

Running a red light, speeding through a 20mph school zone to impress the 8 year olds with the exhaust noise, cutting across 2 motorway lanes late to make a junction

The article is too full of obscure metaphors; it's hard to read. There are moments of lucidity, but they are fleeting.

As to the car, it's technically impressive, but does nothing for me. I'd much rather have a speedy estate car, even a slightly jacked-up one if ease of entry were an issue (Audi A6 Allroad), and I just don't need that much power in a car which is designed to carry people, dogs, and luggage about (if you're not doing that, why are you getting a car that's so large?). Sports cars are different. It's usually just you and the car. Bring on the power.

Still, each to their own. I hope it's a success for JLR. It just leaves me cold.

Oh, and this one has black wheels. Ugh.

Sorry, what?? 19kg PER WHEEL??

That’s hilarious, how heavy are the standard wheels to manage that saving hehe
Watching the TG video on YT
The weight saving is 70KG across all 4 wheels, including the optional carbon brakes

Also - SUV EV’s are heavy confused
This weighs 2.6 tons without any batteries !

Waiting for Harry to drop a video where the people complaining about EV price, weight and range (e.g. Lotus Eletre, BMW iX M60) face a conflicting problem tongue out

Misses the mark of the old SVR by miles, for me at least.

That'll be a fantastic car. The 4.4L BMW is a phenomenal engine, though lacking the drama of the 5.0S/C its certainly more punchy.

Looks a bit too Disco-sport for me at the front end.

Ahhhh only that makes a little more sense, the article made it seem like that was 76kg from the wheels alone!

As it’s the same engine I’d take an X5M and a chunk of change, also think the X5 looks better inside and out.
But if I HAD to spend £200k it would be on a DBX 707.

All sold..

I'm guessing that's £171k before options, so easily a £200k SUV.

I'm not the intended market but that seems an awful lot of folding for a product that hasn't got the best deprecation record on the planet (IIRC).

I could be wrong, happy to be corrected on that.
£171k is for the Edition One version, usually comes with a hefty premium but with a very high level of spec. I'm sure you could get to £200k, but you'd have to be a bit 'London' to get there.

I think it looks the bks. The old was way too chavvy and shouty for me (hence why I went for the F-Pace SVR, not the RRS), but this one cuts a totally different cloth aesthetically.

At £170k, it's well above my future budget - but if the non-'Edition One' version drops £30-40k for a starting point, then it would be on my list in the future (albeit right at the top end).
