lovely.
surprised theres no plug in hybrid options though. No doubt the EV version will sell out (in tiny numbers) but i just dont see the point in mild hybrids (the G500 is an inline 6 with hybrid tech). c02 emissions would be very high so no real appeal to company owners to run as the BIK would be too high - what would be the point in the MHEV version.
A Plug in hybrid G wag that can do 60 / 70 miles of electric like the current Range Rover P460 / P550e coupled to a 6 or 8 cylinder.. now that would be the dream daily.
There's meant to be a fully electric EQG coming soonish.surprised theres no plug in hybrid options though. Very good video by Jonny Smith: https://youtu.be/YzaCgYIFNpg?si=o_igW3sNvWLaLji3
There’re several locally, and despite most being owned by weapons-grade douche bags, I’ve come to like these ‘old’ bruisers for their honesty, which contrasts the recent salvo of PR manure for Land Rover’s new Diamond Geezer range.
Badge-delete G63 in metallic dark green, tan cabin, with all-silver 19in wheels – and a snorkel. And because the cabin presents a decent sound stage, chuck in the mutt’s nuts Burmester too.

I'd have one.
They've never seemed overly popular or recognised in the U.K. but across Europe they're very popular and quite an iconic car.
See them all over the posh bits of West London - if someone has a job they aren't rich enough to buy one of these They've never seemed overly popular or recognised in the U.K. but across Europe they're very popular and quite an iconic car.
Will see them parked up outside the fancy hotels and restaurants in funny colours. Usually young guys as well (20s, 30s).
I am actually more interested in the G450d to be honest.
The G63s are wonderful things - I look after several - but they are a bit excessive, and do have something of an image problem. Feels to me like, in real world use, the diesel might be the sensible choice. Not that these cars are bought with sensible in mind, I suppose.
Would be good if they open up some more colour choices (inside and out) as they all seem to be grey, blue or black...

I disagree...its the one model that's stayed so faithful to the original design I can only tell the new ones from the LED lights. Super cool.
And you can swap out the front end (plus add a few more bits) to make your 1990's 300GD to look like a later G55AMG / G63AMG / BrabusG63/55 which will really impress the customers at your skip hire yard.WPA said:
Really nice, very clean and fuss free plus have always stayed close to the original
Yes, quite. It was a conscious and smart decision by MB to keep so many of the 1970's details and architecture, when much 'better' and more ergonomic solutions had been developed in the meantime. Things like, the boxy shape, upright flat windscreen, flat sides, exposed door hinges, rubbing strip and roof gutter. This makes the vehicle transcend fashion trends and eschew factors like fuel economy and ease of manufacture - a bit like Rolex never makes significant changes to the size and appearance of a Submariner - don't dilute your brand and alienate your market. People take comfort in the continuance of the traditional.LRDefender said:

I think it depends where you are in the country. G63s are almost as popular as blacked out new Defender 110s amongst the parents at my son's school. They've never seemed overly popular or recognised in the U.K. but across Europe they're very popular and quite an iconic car.
I wouldn't say no to one of the lower spec models if I had the money.
