Lease car repair.. part not available.. return imminent!

Lease car due back end April and we wanted to hand it back next week.

There’s a fault with the charge port, it works but makes a weird noise on lock/unlock. Warranty work.. except.. Nissan have just told us there’s a 8 week delay on the part required!

What do we do? Guess I need to speak to the lease co, but surely we won’t be on the hook for the repair if the parts aren’t available?

Just hand it back - the charge port won’t be tested and the next owner/selling dealer can get it fixed under warranty

Don’t fancy an insurance claim

Not sure whether I should tell the lease co so I can at least get the response from Nissan on the record

Just tell the lease company it's their car and you can demonstrate you have tried to seek a repair but parts are unavailable.
