Goodness me £100K is bonkers.
My 111S with a very similar spec to this has cost less than £25K in total and that includes buying it for £12.5K in 2013, from Analogue Automotive funnily enough.
Yes OK it’s a lovely car but not sure I could justify the £75K delta.
Everything else is spot on the money, the driving experience is sublime, it still gets loads of positive attention, and they look great in black.
Oh and it’s the only car I have that can do donuts in the garage laugh
Haha, this is brilliant.

hehe wow, great garage space. I'm a bit jealous biggrin lovely space, many times I wished for such specious garage, but if I had such, then I would have bought many cars (as long as that could go with my savings) that I came across over the many years that were real price bargains, not really expensive stuf, say cars 20-60k that I thought , wow way to cheap and great for what is (say those cars could have been at least 10-30 k more worth in some occasions normally) so you would not lose any on it (normally) when owning those and nicer in your garage then money on the bank.

But then I think, hm, with my low on energie and can't handle to much in my head and not using them all and more worries to keep them in a good state and ow cost insurance and so on.. I think (to keep myself under control hehe ) its better for me to have not such place... (still wished one though hehe )

lovely space and that fun Elise do-nut in your garage hahah cool thumbup

Very fecking nice.
But, for £100k I’d expect a 6-speed gearbox.
It wouldn’t add much weight, so why’s it not part of the upgrade package?

I think quaife do a six speed gearset for the PG1.

Totally agree. The close ratio 5 speed box is brilliant but as soon as you up the power it’s just too low geared overall. I think it’s about 19 mph/1000rpm in top gear. Mine will pull past 7000rpm in 5th which is quite entertaining but a bit frenetic.
I would love the same ratios but with just one more to slot in on top for motorway driving. It’s on my possible to do list.

Well done to Stef if he has customers or these. He upgraded my S2 type 25 a few ago, transformed the car. 200 BHP in an Elise is great fun. Had an original S1 but always felt under powered though nimble.

Yes it's very expensive, but I'm guessing it's acting more as a rolling billboard for all the things they could do to a customer car, rather than with the expectation they'll sell lots just like that?

Big empty garage. You need more cars.

Cost of this restomod upgrade is 4 times what I paid for my S1 brand new in 1999. My car has upgraded VVC engine, suspension and brake mods all installed for a fraction of this cost.
Is that better?
Is that an Aerodeck?

The Quaife box is a dog-engagement sequential, I believe, which would change the entire character of the car: much more hardcore, and really only suitable for track use.

Yes well spotted. 59K miles and absolutely mint condition. It’s my guilty pleasure.

So this is an Elise ‘free from rattles, clonks and squeaks’. That’s worth £100,000 on its own.

The 'restomod' stuff is just getting crazy. Why spend this on an S1, just buy a 430 Cup and save some money!

Stunning car, but 50% or so heavier. A different beast.

Damn, beat me to it :-)

Edit: there's also a 106 in the background in the Catchpole/Haggerty vid.

Odd factoid. It is the first mainstream production car to have double wishbone’s all round. Classy.

There is (or certainly was) a Quaife 6 speed available which is a regular H pattern synchro box. Combined with a lightweight flywheel, it's a good mod. The biggest issue I had was the gearchange taking an age and many miles to eventually loosen up.

£100k is an absolute bloody joke.

For a K-Series. That will probably still end up with mayo on the oil cap.

Joke.
