Can't get even slightly excited about this. It's a dull, slightly ugly and overweight-looking blob of a design and follows Mercedes' recent trend of releasing a car every couple of weeks that looks like everything else in their range and has a random indecipherable string of numbers and letters in its name. Usually sent to the press in matte black with black wheels. A neighbour recently bought a new C class and I only know what that is because he parked nose-first on the driveway the other day so I could see the badge.
I can only guess that people buying one of these do so by going into the showroom and saying "I'm interested in the medium sized one. No, the medium sized one with only two doors. No, not the one that looks like a 911 from the back. Yes, I know the one I want looks almost identical from the back..."

Zero interest from me, for that money a lovely AMG GT could be had, with a proper engine and sports car looks.

I find the state of Mercedes depressing. They used to make nice cars.
With some of the best V8 engines of any maker at any time........now downsizing to some of the least inspiring engines anyone makes (albeit still powerful and with hugely complex hybrid crap strapped on).

The new car scene is extremely tedious right now.
I wouldn't say that, and Teslas seem very well loved now, plus I see loads of them on the roads now as well. So they seem very popular as a modern car I reckon. Does Mercedes have an engineering team anymore? It's like they aren't even trying to reduce weight, 2 tonnes!
I haven't seen many of the new model C or E classes on the roads. I suspect electric cars has taken over their old company car sales market.
The BMW 3 series on the other hand seems to still be going from strength to strength.

Complete lard arse of a car. Hopefully there will be a few cheap C63 hybrids in a couple of years time.
I'm not afraid of the occasional lumpy bill but the thought of running any of these heavyweight hybrids in a few years fills me with dread. You're basically stuck in the dealer network buying extended warranties, no mods etc... until the car is all but worthless.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
