Lister, yes; this, nope. The new bodywork doesn't match the old, it's like 2 different cars from different eras have been glued together.

He’s someone who does AI videos and renderings of modified cars on insta and has racked up quite a following, and is seemingly now being allowed to play with real cars

I'm not 100% sure about this. From some angles I quite like it, from others not so much. Will be interesting to see what the real car looks like that's for sure.

His name is Khyzyl Saleem and he started by doing digital renderings of modified cars with crazy body kits. He has over 1m followers on Instagram alone, and clearly appeals to a very different audience to PH judging by the comments on here. He works with OEMs on producing marketing imagery, while some of this body kit designs have been made into reality through the "Live to Offend" brand, which gives an insight into what he thinks of those who criticise what he does.

I may be living in an alternative universe, but is anyone going to buy one of these? Surely £250k is better spent on either a modern super car or a good classic, not the bd child of the two?

The bonnet and rear don't look quite right, nor the massive wheels, it's all a bit too much Hot Wheels for me, maybe the production car will be better resolved. That colour looks like it was lifted straight from a BMW M4 Competition, so not really sold on that either. Strangely, given I didn't have particularly high hopes my taste was the target when this was announced, I'm still somehow left disappointed with the offering so far.

Why does anyone want a V12 anymore? Their big, heavy and unnecessary, any car equipped with one is inevitably compromised from the outset.

What's the bloody point apart from bragging rights?
The main reasons I'd love a V12 are because it will be big, heavy, unnecessary and compromised.

Oh, and bragging rights.

I suspect someone who buys one of these has a modern super car or two already, as well as some classics. Few people who spent £250k on a souped-up old Jag are going to be the position where they can only afford one car.

Most definitely the best off-road vehicle by far ;-)

That's the one angle the new car looks ok from. As others have said, it doesn't just need to be a restomod but just flared arches/wings and some good aero would be so much nicer. However, such a limited vehicle will find buyers who just don't care and £250K is nothing to them

The reason my XJS was a straight six was I opened the bonnet on a V12 and my wallet got scared just looking!

The six (4.0 AJ6) was a great engine that really suited the car but I did often regret my lack of cojones!

I have had both and IMHO the AJ6 engine with the ZF4HP box is every bit as good as the V12 & GM THM400 combination.

However you can’t escape the ‘baby Jag’ feeling of not having the 12.

Similarly my Capri with a 2.1 pinto, Burton cam & 40’s was probably a much better car than the 2.8i but it wasn’t the ‘big’ one.

I may need therapy. biglaugh

Sounds decadent; the Honda 5.5 on my lawnmower weights 16kg and will run forever on 25RON carrot juice - why would you need more?
You make my point well. Asking why anyone wants anything other than the bare minimum is a ridiculous argument in my opinion.

In the bizarre alternative universe where the ridiculous possibilities of this actually being produced and me having the money to buy something this expensive co-exist, I'd have one in a heartbeat

I like it, but I'd need some tweaks.. too much weight at the bottom half . . it's supposed ot be long and sleek not chunky.

I'd take a Lister Le Mans and pay someone the 100 grand change to fettle it.

I would be amazed if this gets beyond one running example.
Magnus Walker on the design team. I know that guy is well into his cars but I do not understand how he's got where he is. He makes tramps look smart.

I'm strangely drawn to this car.
Must have something to do with having a soft spot for anything with a Jaguar V12 in it.
