that sounds very nice. i can assure you that the zonda c12s ( with tubi ) doesnt sound like that.

it can't have sounded that bad though... surely?

I think the F is stunning by the way, and at Geneva there will be an F roadster... you'll be needing a nice big tunnel to go with that!!

Insanely excessive and unrestrained car, all the better for it really. Seems to make just about every other manufacturer look tame and “safe” in comparison.

I think the article is wrong.

It doesnt have any electronic assistance.

here's a pic I took whilst at the factory. Just gives an impression of what an ocean of carbon fibre that body is.

Really guys, seeing it in pictures and all the journal articles don't even come close to preparing you for the real thing.

Hmmm... Shame they put it away under a layer of paint, not?

Traction control, but that's it.

Guys

Fair enough, you're picking on my terminology. You can't make an AMG engine work without an arsenal of electronics, though, they're complex beasts!

As for what you can feel behind the wheel, there is only really traction control, apart from that clever throttle blip at low revs, but it's an integral part of the car. You are constantly aware of its work and, when you've spent that much money, it's no bad thing!

Not that I ever will spend be able to spend that much money on a car you understand...

And cars like this are bound to polarise opinion on the looks front, the Carrera GT and Enzo aren't exactly beautiful in some people's minds, but being boring would surely have been a bigger sin in a car like this! Oh, and it was just stunning to drive.

Cheers
Nick

Concur with this - seeing a "standard" C12S at Le Mans last year was a real highlight (a UK registered car if IIRC), and then seeing Horatio Pagani driving another (Zonda F I think) off the supercar stand was pure indulgence. There remains a strong argument to have cars like this - otherwise all those 10yr old boys will have no posters to hang on the wall

Hi I'm new here.

I nearly got run over by a c12 (not a competing car) whilst walking out of the paddock at Silverstone last summer during the International Historic Motorsport Festival, awesome bit of kit.

And would have been a cracking way to die as well.

Why F then why not just FANGIO - the greatest (at least from his time) maybe ever.

Horacio Pagani did not name it Fangio F1, as the first idea was, because Fangio, as you know, died before the Zonda was completed. Fangio never gave the finished car thumbs up (Although he surely would if he lived today).

Anyway, greatest car ever made bar none. Anyone seen the Topgear video? More of that outrageously great noise, but unfortunately only a short test... It is to be found on google video.

Turn the volume way up, look at it.
Then come tell me it's just like a Porsche and the interior is ugly.

Beautiful sounds.
Tearing along the street in a built-up area at twilight isn't terribly clever.

I believe it's an arranged demo outside the factory. Plus I reckon any pedestrians would hear it coming!
