I don't know how Albert is picking from his 700+ photos...
Still 500+ to go.

In the 'forbidden' La Source zone I caught some hard braking wheels:
Datsun 240Z enjoying the track: outrunning some TVR's . . .
That may well be so, but in the looks compartement it's no contest.
Fast, very fast Tiger . . .
Gorgeous E braking hard . . .
Noisy Vette braking hard . . .
Beemer braking hard . . .
. . . all turning in for the hairpin . . . Like this wild Stang here.
I think this is the qualification for one of sunday's races. I've got an excellent close up of that Stang in the pitlane (pitpass ) with lots of smoke coming from under the car. The mechanics looked but didn't find where it came from so the car raced on and even finished.
The good thing of this event is to be really close with the cars and the drivers and the teams and the track. Man, did I have a wonderfull weekend.
:knot in tie: I'll setup a convoy-to-Spa-topic a month before Spa6Hrs'07

I think it's an M1B. It's definitely a small block. There were two M1Bs at Spa.
Right!
"La convivialité fut de mise chez les propriétaires! Richard Dodkins me laissa prendre place au volant de sa McLaren M1B. Ce volant est d’ailleurs disponible pour la course au Castellet dans deux semaines. Avis aux amateurs!"
Err, right

Thanks guys for a superb thread with fantastic photo's and comments, takes me way way back. I just have to go next year is(are)the date(s) announced yet?
It's always in the last week-ish of September/beginning of October. I don't think it's confirmed exactly yet. Would be great to see some PH'ers down there.
Mate, would love to make it over there for the weekend to watch you and the racing !

Just in case you were after a pointer:
Our French chum is saying how the owners were convivial to a tee, how a Mr Dodkins let him sit behind the wheel going 'brrm, brrmm, neaooooww, a-wooooaaaw, a-wooooaaaaww' for a bit, and how they'll all be at the le Castellet circuits in 2 weeks if anyone else fancies gently wobbling the gearstick.
It's rather a pity I won't be able to make it.

Some more shots from the braking-point at La Source:
Can't get enough of the Cobra's.
Nice Marcos.
Astons, they sound so much better in race-outfit.
TVR's have a really great cornering abillity. They do need the power of a V8 though.
Love those early 911's.
You have to be used at the E's by now

Oooo, Dink - is that not a Griff then or one of the Vixen / Grantura's with the baby engines. Looks the NUTS either way. Great Colour.John Shipman and Mark Hales are driving that car (Very Fast then)! Looks like a Griffith to me but I could be wrong? That is a very odd colour for a TVR but it kind of suits it.
Great photos Dink, Well Done for you to get down at La Source!!!
Can't wait for more...
(The Sabre has now got a new engine from a friend and it is ready to go in the car and do the Birkett---old engine is a total loss i'm afraid, but that's motor racing)

Great sound and a good clip - quite an unorthodox driving style though. Does it feel so slow next to the Boss that you can drive it one handed?!?!
Phil
The torque is immense - I guess the power&torque/weight is 1.3-ish compared with the Boss. The low engine revs are very deceptive in the video - I'm in 4th through Eau Rouge and it was trying to break loose between the Stavelots in 3rd. The lap time looks like about 3.12-ish which would be a respectable time in the dry but it's over 20 seconds slower than I was in the dry and another 10 seconds off my old-bus stop best.
I'm back at Spa on a trackday in my 4.5 next week and will have video onboard. Will be interesting to see how the Cerbera feels around there, I guess it will sound a lot more frantic.
