Thanks Dink, I'm now one step closer to buying my latest investment which will hopefully be eligable for at least one race at Spa next year!

Hmmm they do get close some timeshehe

thumbup What car is that? I'll point the cam at you next year.

That is not close - miles away! Red one is 67 Camaro, Yellow one id Colin Pendles / Graham Millers Monster TR7V8.

I've done a rally in May as a navigator in a TR4. I can imagine this one has over double the power and a bit more control.

**This is an FIA 4 and they are screamers on 87mm steel engines rev to 7.5! and make about 190-200bhp but are heavy if the run to the correct weight limit. Chaps name on tip of tongue - fast but fia regs kill it as far as REALLY being able to make thme go!!!

Andon's TR4 (3:10) being gorgeous.

**John Should be going shed load quicker with all the trick bits on this car - almost as extreme spec as mine but heavier. Needs to get it by the balls and drive it - John - if you read this - that is mean't in th nicest possible way - (and if you ever need someone to race the Cobra!!!!)

Did you guys get the vid? Or did I hid it too well?

hehe

The Camaro I could touch . . . if I wanted (not).

At the straight the roaring beasts made the concrete blocks move . . . like an earthquake . . .

Woof,Woof,Woof,Woof,Woof,Woof,Woof,Woof,Woof, as the monster hammer past nose to tail.

Damn, big vid won't get into Googlevideo . . . Anyone want to host a 89 Mb 30 mins DivX?

Dink's Spa Classic Car Racing blog (35)

Race a V8? Even hearing one and feeling one thunder by . . . is more than addictive. Cheng's Cob didn't spit flames but shook the earth.

Another mover: like a truck! Nothing elegant 'bout this Vette's racing.
Maybe that's why I like the smaller cars a bit more . . . : pussy :

This one's for Wim: Death's (!!!) Cooper S (3:11) turning in and taking a clean one . . . On the curvy bits Mini's are hard to beat I guess. Only 1275 cc's ladies and gents!

Scragg & Butler's MGB V8 GT (3:05). I prefer the MGC with the iron 6, Sebring looks.

I dunno Jon, but Andon's TR4 didn't sound that much of a screamer to me. The MGB V8 must have about the same kinda power or even a bit more and takes a gap of about 10 secs on this Triumph . . .

Smart or what . . . Love that car.

An E for a change . . . (3:08) It's funny to see such different laptimes. A big car doesn't always mean an ace time. They loose huge at corners (I saw some struggling) and can only gain at straights . . . I wonder what would be the perfect car for Spa.

Abel's E is a bit ratty and therefor tasty. A very nice guy too. When the racing was done (I believe) his wife made us some bread, cheese and wine to share. Cheers!

I take my words back, I'm just impatient! After 3 hours of upload the 25 mins 89 mb vid can be seen here.

Enjoy! and yes, the black ratty Civic is my luverly, after 3 hours of cruising. First shot is just to check out the cam. After that I rang Phil and a few mins later we flew away chasing the Cobra in the Spada, as seen on page one.

Clip is just a non-edit long shot. The early sundaymorning two-hour-race practise session lined up in front of the track entrance and was a nice walk by. Especially when the engines fired up. The bad black vette again.

AWESOME - wish I could race mine instead of having to sell it for a sensible car for the wife - tricked up one are the NUTS (I have the same mirrors - Sad I know!)

No JA's is not the screamer (the blue one is the screamer fia - diddy pot one, Jons is a 92mm all steel, one with all the bells and wistles (mine is even bigger and alot lighter - no roof etc).
He was 5 sec slower than me on Silver Int in the summer - just can't work it out, maybe i could understand 1 or 2. Mine would be almost Hendo fast round there but sure would not last at that pace - would have to knock the revs off to have it reliable, which would of course kill the times!

Chaps - Boss - can you refuel in the 2 hours race not sure the ATL in the 6 would be enough - well I know it wouldn't at 12 gallons.

From what Phil told me the Spa-Cobra did the last lap of the 1 hour race on the last drops of dead dino . . .

Dink's Spa Classic Car Racing blog (37)

Love locking-ups. Henderson did well here . . . passing the Porker. Love the detail: braking-lights on.

Passing small ones in a DB4 was easy . . .

A bunch of nice Capri's at Spa: Most had the V6, 3:03 isn't bad at all . . .

. . . considering a V8 MGB GT did plus 3 secs.

Another 3:03 here: Dod & Hyde's Sunbeam Tiger.

I just can't help posting!!!

Love the immense variety. Not only in this race but at the whole event.

I believe this car has a huge fanpack.

This Yank for me then.

Hendo REALLY is a FANTASTIC Driver - and as only and Hour (it is getting less all the time)! Think I will have to come to try it on against him. The ex-Churchill car is heavy but massively powerful. Doubt ours will have the power (think it is a Cambridge 2.7 - ours is an Ellison 2.6!) but should be lighter.

I really must say I've never had so much mailresponse on a topic ever. Normally I get a few mails a month, besides the PH-replies, of PHers I'd never mailed before. But since I started this blog I find happy words in my mailbox every other day. Some drivers, some enthusiasts, some who were at Spa as well.
I'm very happy to entertain you all. And now that's of my chest we can carry on:

Dink's Spa Classic Car Racing blog (38)

Froud's GTD40 (3:10), in red the low Fords look best IMO. Nice wheels here.
:looking at watch: The one hour race should be over in mins now . . .

. . . oops, the fast Tiger being a bit too nonchalant here, thus losing a few secs.

Last time Cheng passed by. Sitting comfy, flooring his beastie.

:sms: PODIUM!
Right, better hurry back to the paddock . . .

. . . where I meet Cheng's wife Jane (in red here). "Let's go and see some champy popping!"
Phil, waiting for Cheng to come in, obviously is a happy man here.

There he is: "We're third. On the podium at last!" Wayne at the left.

"That's brilliant! I could do with a glass of whatever . . . Let's go up."

A few moments later it's time to cheer.

Very well done, I've enjoyed the race and collected nuff pics for a nice reportage. Would it be a coincidence I was around and the Cob winning . . .

Cap comp: Flowers? WhereTF is our champy!

Coming up next: the tasty showering and the two-hour race.

Great pic's of the end of the race - must make a note - "Need a Full PHAT V8 to get a Sniff of a podium".

I'm quite a fan myself, but then I'm biased!
In one of your earlier posts, did I see this vette for sale?

I think he wants aronud 50K for the Silver one, which is for sale. If it doesn't sell then he is going to ship it out to the states and race it there until it sells, which it will out there.
