RE: Zolfe Orange set for take-off
Discussion
Still says on the website that it's going to go into production in mid 2006.
I like the shape and price, and yes it appears to hit the mid-range enthusiast sweet-spot that TVR abandoned after the S and the Chim, but it's going to have to have nice sound and torque - i.e. NOT a bike engine. And the weight will have to be kept ruthlessly down, or it's going to be embarrassed by today's finely-honed mass-market 'sports' cars like the MX-5.
I'd love to see a few of these blasting around with a decent beefy engine note, especially in that orange / black combo which looks ace.... but yet again, with cynical hat on, how many of these enterprises have really delivered the goods? It's damn hard at 'sensible' price points. Just because there are loads of individual supercars available at £100k+ doesn't mean it's viable to make individual sportscars at £25k, unfortunately

Looks great, like a seven with a very nice body on the top but I don’t think for what it is they could charge more then 15-20k. If they went the same way as Ultima to tap the "I want to build it" market and priced it around 15k (with a completed car option several k more) then I reckon they would do better then just trying to sell the completed car.

Very nice point!
I think this car is a winner as a build it yourself job. The guys who made it must be very proud. It looks very functional and really good to do yourself in the garage. Market sector too tough for these guys - ask TVR about this and Lotus with Elise.
Interior very basic and kit car but not a bad thing as it would be ideal for a person to build.
This could be a really good success.

I would love to see this thing in the US, though I would rather have the 2.0 or 3.0 ltr engine for the torque. But I like the fact that the engine is in the front, which would make a real differance to the elise/exige - which are already very popular cars over here in the states. Plus 25K BP = about 40K $$, so it would actually undercut even the base elise which fetches about 40-45K $$.
New here but I gotta say I'm not a fan of this car just based on looks. It looks schizophrenic to me, a car that doesn't know what it wants to be. I see the following cars in it mostly:
Datsun 240 all over!
MG XPower SV fender flares
Maybe a bit of TVR
Elise front
Ginetta rear or kit car 60's Ferrari GTO
Corvette/Mclaren F1'ish behind the front wheels, can't quite place it but I swear I've seen it before.
I guess it really looks most like a 70's Z car rebody to me. Love the motorcycle powered cars but I think they could have done better than ripping off half a dozen classic stylings. Props for actually getting something done but what a unique opportunity to create something from scratch and it seems it was missed.

At least they have built the car, and not just sent out the usual press release saying they are 'going to build it', so we should give them a chance
Looks quite nice. A kind of cross between a Caterham 21, a Ginetta and the old Lenham Le mans.
Agree. Looks quite nice. A kind of cross between a Caterham 21, a Ginetta and the old Lenham Le mans.
Wonder what a rag-top version would look like?

Yeah look what happened to the very similar Caterham 21! It didn't last did it!? I know this one's a bit more track orientated, but is it overly different/better??
have to say I really like the look/sound of this.. and even better if they do it in self-assembly form...
I've been thinking to myself for years now "why doesn't anyone make a proper little sportscar that's actually useable!?"
Things like the ginetta G27 are great, but have no proper doors/windows, so you couldn't ever really have one as a daily car...
here's hoping they make a self-assembly version, at a good price!
