Years ago, I owned a rare Rover 3500 Estate, like the one below.
Even at the time, it was considered very rare. Mind you, it was god damn ugly, and as an Estate Car it was pretty useless, as the roofline at the back was too low.
Are there any of these still around, and are they of any real value?
Also, this is a good excuse to mention any other odd ball Estates.
I bet we will get loads of mentions of the Ferrari 456 Venice cars.

360,

First up I love the website and being a complete sado I have looked through pretty much all of the photos on it, some great stuff. Once the restoration of my Deauville is complete it will be interesting to see what sort of plate can be dug out to do her justice

On the estate front Alessandro DeTomaso had a one off estate version of the Deauville commissioned for Mrs DeTomaso to carry her Afghan hounds around in and sat in the factory reception for many years and I think might still be on of the few cars remaining there. I just can't find a b----- picture of the thing

So much for my "Bet you ain't seen one of these before" replies.

I've never seen one in the metal, but think that the concept and form is wonderful. I'd love to have one as an alternative to an RS Avant Audi or AMG Estate (neither of which I can afford either.

Remember seeing one for sale a few years ago that allegedly used to belong to the Sultan of Brunei. Was the wrong side of £150k too if I recall.

Here's a pic anyway

Bob
Thanks for the nice comments. The website is getting so many hits now, that I am thinking about expanding it to include a forum and news pages connected to cherished numbers. I would appreciate comments from anyone, before I throw a lot of money at it.
Back on topic, I recently bumped into a guy filling up a Deuville in a local petrol station.
It turns out that he lives local to me, although I have never seen the car before.
It is a silver LHD example which he claims to have bought as a runner for just £2500. A bit rough around the edges, but nevertheless, a lot more interesting than an XJ6.
The Deuville Estate is on the net somewhere, because I remember seeing a pic.
Many thanks again.

What about the Avon-bodied Jaguar XJ12 estate?

Sounds like it should be a very elegant car, but in reality it looks like someone attached the wheelhouse from a fishing boat to the boot. And it was BL beige.

Only a one off prototype though, strange looking thing, reminiscent of the Lotus Eclat in a way.
