. . . but time to tell the full story over a few malt whiskies at Spa. G
We must think of a good place to hide all of us there. I've a contact that can make a deal for about 20. Last week's little Ardennes holiday gave me the thought it isn't particulary wrong to be a few miles from SpaF Really enjoyed the roads . . . Graeme they do have decent beers in Belgium
All the best with the recovering . . .
Booking a hotel near SpaF
OK guys, I've booked - via internet / confirmed by mail - for sat on sun at this place:
www.lamaisondessenteurs.be
If you want you can do the same.
A nice Francorchamps B&B, 2 kms from da track:
50 Eu for 2 a room;
65 Eu for 3 a room and
80 Eu for 4 a room.
That's per room folks!
I've asked the owner to keep 'these places on this date' on reservation for a week, starting from today. No problem to sleep with any of your PH-mates I suppose, so everyone can book individual. You'll pay as you leave.
I will follow the pack sunday afternoon to the Ring, eat too fat and drink too much and stay overnight in Germany. Next it's Ringtime! I can hold a vidcam
Accomodation for the Ring will follow soon I suppose, or do we book at the spot?
Cheers, Dink.

Four miles from Malmedy, 38 Eu a room, 4 rooms a 2 p.
In case d'Essenteurs is full.
Germany, book the famous Ring-hotel here:

We are already booked for Spa at the hotel-du-wayai, we went for that because of the secure parking. Unfortunately our ferry, which only runs every second day goes back on Monday so it looks like we will have to pass on the Ring trip! Bummer! Staying on Until wednesday unfortunately is not really an option I can work with. Double bummer!

I am not confirmed for accommodation in Spa quite yet, have booked the Dorint as a safety net (can cancel it free anyway) but will chat with some of the other Cerburgring lot to finalise, the above all look interesting so could well change to something like that - as Dink has said to me by email, we probably won't be in the hotel for very long anyway so it does seem a waste to pay for 4* when 3* will do. I have also booked at the Pistenklause (well the Am Tiertgarten) for the Sunday night - will skip the Sunday night in Spa and head to the Ring late sunday afternoon to arrive early evening, am having to leave straight from the Ring to get home Monday night so want to get at least one night in here - of course this will also enable some beers and steak there and will give a leisurely Monday morning hanging around Nurburg (and possibly save having to drive with a sore head if Sunday night beers grow to a larger number).
What crossing do the Southern UK peeps fancy? I am reasonably up for the tunnel this time as will need to use it for a late crossing back on Monday night anyway. It is probably also slightly quicker, even taking into account arriving west of the Dunkirk landing of Norfolk Lines; it will therefore get us down a bit sooner and as it is all under way on the Saturday anyway the sooner the better - a train at about 0630-0730 is showing at £39 (if coupled with a return) which sounds good to me and should see us down by around midday at the latest I think.
Edited to say: I love the sound of Hotel Wayai .... is it run by Scousers?

My outline plan is to travel out on the Saturday with the group - like the tunnel - much less hassle for embarking and disembarking amongst other things. Drive to Spa - haven't sorted out accommodation yet. Watch the racing on Sunday and then drive to Nurburg that evening, preferably to arrive in time for one of those fab steaks!
'Ring Monday, then stay Nurburg again, driving back to Spa Tuesday am. I'm not doing to the Trackday at Spa, but thought maybe I could be pit crew for those that are! (But don't let that put you off! ).
Travel back to Blighty with group, whether that be Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Would like to get booked, so as soon as there is a consensus on the outward/return journey, will get cracking wth booking up
