RE: Project Retirement Rocket PART 2.

One was certainly wrecked - a tidy 827 bit the dust for this "project". The Allegro has been subjected to so much modification that it would be impossible to restore if the project doesn't get finished.
As for the project itself, Jonny has provided no updates for 2 years - it has "abandoned project" written all over it. I would like to see it finished but I can almost picture the ebay advert now:
"A series engine and Hydrospastic suspension removed for abandoned project. Breaking the body and interior for spares. also available: Rover 827 engine and gearbox".
By the way, Jonny - Allegros had Hydragas suspension, not Hydrolastic suspension (certainly not Hydrospastic as you rather insultingly put it in a previous post).

No, it hasn't been abandoned or cut up and put on eBay for £10 (sorry Richard Moss - are you one of those forum hating tw*ts who lives on forums to put people down?)
I will be giving you pictures and a full update v soon.
The car has brakes, coilovers and I am about to order either an Emerald or Megasquirt ECU for her.
Oh, and the radiator/battery will be living in the boot. A long story, but there's not enough room to put sufficient radiator(s) under the bonnet.

SHE'S NEARLY ALIVE. I know it's been a very VERY long time since I updated PHers on the Project Retirement project.

How soon is "soon"? If two years+ is "soon", then I don't imagine that most of us will live long enough to see it completed.I will be giving you pictures and a full update v soon.

For the record, rather than being a forum hating tw*t, I'm just a "tw*t hating forum member" and you certainly seem to be the tw*t in question.
Very old thread resurrection, but thought it would be worthwhile if anyone has missed it, that this build has been resurrected and some videos have made their way onto this channel (Some of them featuring me)

Christ I never knew Jonny was on here. I've been following via his YouTube channel and it's a heck of a project.
Since the last video, the parts of the shell where the old paintwork isn't being retained have all been blasted. The floorpan of the car is in incredibly good shape. Especially considering it was apparently parked in a load of grass for a number of years
There are some frilly bits around the edges, like the bottoms of the rear inner arches, front and rear ends of NS Sill etc, but the problem areas are very minimal.
The worst part is going to be dealing with the "fabrication" work carried out previously, which has failed whilst the original car is mostly still spot on. If it could ever be considered a "success" in the first place

May I ask who was responsible for the 'welding & fabrication' ?The floorpan of the car is in incredibly good shape. Especially considering it was apparently parked in a load of grass for a number of years
