A friend of mine has just got caught up in this scam -
So be warned this scam is STILL running, it originated from a classified ad on pistonheads for the sale of a VW Golf. The scammer is based in Milano, Italy (same as above) but has a new e-mail address and shipping company name -

And the Shipping Company is JWL Express Shipping - the company's website has also vanished.
I'm hoping he can get the money back which he transfered into a money gram through the post office, but hasn't yet put into the scammers name, just his girlfriend's which he was instructed to do before shipment of the car - Did anyone else get this far and manage to get dragged in any further?

Further update - Spoken to my friend who was involved in this scam and they did end up losing £4,400 in total, the moneygram was withdrawn by the scammer whilst still being in his girlfriend's name!
It's been reported to the police and the post office - Doubt they'll get the money back!

You will pay on the delivery,you will not be asked for any upfront payments or any deposits in advance,you will be required a proof that you are serious and genuine about the purchase and also that you have the cash available to complete the sale.
During the 48 hrs inspection period you can take the car to a garage or have it RAC inspected,I absolutely welcome any checks you want to perform on the car.You will release the payment to the delivery driver,after the 48hrs expires and only if you are 100% happy with the car.You also have the right to decline the car if,for some reason,you won`t be absolutely satisfied with it.

Hi,
I have arranged the delivery through jwl-transport.t35.com ,the tracking number is N1*******. I have paid 450 euros for the shipment and insurance so everything is paid and in good order.
I am absolutely sure it will be a very smooth sale,they`ve acted very proffesionally,the car was also inspected by their tehnical stuff to make sure it is exactly as described.
I beleive the company will contact us soon with the details.thanks in advance for keeping me posted.

Hi,

I just got saved from this same exact scam some poster mentioned above. It was the same story I got married and moved with my italian husband. That's what got me I thought why would someone leave UK with a car they do not want they would sell it before they move to Italy. That is if we assumed this to be true this women I have been emailing might have been a guy for all I know. I cannot find the advert for the car ever since I emailed her back saying that it does not look right to me.
However I did give a garage address that we normally go to but also I gave my sisters spare mobile number and her email address obviously. I just feel glad that I did not do anything so i have not lost the money by arranging a money gram.

Hope this helps someone I cannot imagine how someone who actually does arrange the money gram and loses that money feel. She has not replied yet and I don't think she will. The advert I have noticed has disappeared too.

The police are interested in this type of activity, and you'll be pleased to hear that we have been working with them as members of the VSTAG group (google that word for info). When scams are found they are reported to the Met for investigation. I'd also remind you to use the 'report' button on any problem classified ads, or e- mail me directly with instances like the one above.

Are you referring to my post? The scammer still thinks I will be sending her the receipts by using Money Gram lol. hi my son was very nearly conned by this, same advert in pistonheads advertising a car in west yorkshire, when e-mailed the car was actually in milan, just got married, moved to italy with my husband etc. calling themselves nicole and shipping the car with JWL, only got wise to this by reading other posts on this site thanks for a near miss or my son would have lost £2900 for an ford fiesta ST lookalike
We were going to buy the VW Golf but alarm bells rang. I work in the CJS and I asked advice from an extenal police agency who were willing to do some checks. We asked a lot of questions as to the procedure like, why only a money gram transaction? Why not a credit card? (because it can be traced!) When the 'shipping' company drops the car do they stay in a local hotel for 2 days whilst we decide? Then they have our cash and the car not in our name. Imaginary car. A shipping company would NEVER do the actual payment transaction. My advisory was going to check DVLA etc... when I told the seller I was making checks first I never had a reply. I also phoned the shipping company to double check and they didnt even want the 'shipping number'. We had a lucky escape due to my cautiousness or we would have lost 3k. The phone number of the 'shipping company' is 00393486552918 and the email address for the 'seller' is Aniela Lorenzo - lore73nzoani@ymail.com

I received a reply from T35 Hosting (within four hours) to say that the website in question had been removed. I'm impressed by their quick response and action. Thank you T35 Hosting: http://www.t35.com/I also emailed the abuse team at mail.com, owners of the europe.com free email service used, and outblaze.com whose mail servers were used to send the message.
