And its WHITE! Who's idea was that???
90% of cars are white in the Middle East as it's so bloody hot in summer, all other colours mean your a/c isn't quite powerful enough to keep in the inside cool biggrin

Love the front wheel lift... imagine arriving at a roundabout and seeing that going on! laugh

While we're on the subject of mad drifting, it seems only fair to drag this one out again: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2J4KdQQIzW4

Wondeer what sort of brakes it has, stopping it from 180mph must be interesting. Must be a great tow car, got more power than any new HGV currently on sale and probably not far behind on torque.

Love the G-wagon. Lockers from the factory, and all sorts of good stuff. Not sure what use that engine is going to be in it though!

My late FIL had a G-Wagen to replace his Range Rover back in the mid 80s. Front brakes stopped working so he returned it to MB. When he collected it they gave him a carrier bag full of mud and told him that they had removed it from the brakes and that he'd "been driving it off-road" hadn't he, in an accusing manner.... WTF!

Still, knobbly tyres and wet roads don't mix and my wife lost control on that left-hander entering Oakham from the SE and, with brilliant accuracy considering the large amount of open grass available, flattened a lamppost splintering the G-Wagen as she went. rofl

Absolutley mental! That in itself should be applauded. I'm not sure i'ld do that even if i won the Euro Lotto. I'm not even that big a fan of the AMG version. But, i suppose it does have certain something. Oh, that's right the engine!
Quick question. Does that mean there's a Mclaren Merc for sale without an engine?

720bhp?! It just goes to show how much more power can be realeased from the standard SLRs - so now the question....why don't they give the SLR 720bhp as standard? confused

Darren
That engine is stressed to it's max there.

The SLR's have to be reliable. I'd rather a 600bhp reliable toy than a 700bhp+ unreliable one.

At the time the CGT, Enzo etc, etc....were putting out 600bhp - 650bhp and so 600 ish seemed ok....I guess.
The difference is that the SLR's engine is supercharged. It's a 5.4, the CGT's is a 5.7, and the Enzo's is a 6 liter. All have similar displacements, but the SLR's is supercharged. In standard form, I think that the SLR's engine is probably the least stressed of the three. If built right, it might be able to produce more power than the Porsche's or Ferrari's with similar reliability.

The brabus SLR722 did.
Renntech, in the US, also made their version of the SLR 722 with 722 hp.

why, oh why, do all the videos like this need to be accompanied by brain-dead gun-totin' gangster rap?
Because it's cool - say what you will but that brain-dead gun-totin' gangster rap keeps the record industry propped up so get over it. As for the car, woweee!!!!

Wow that is totally insane, you just know it would be hilarious to drive it.

Don't like the looks though, I know it's hot in UAE etc but white really doesn't suit the car. Gwagens look so much better in black.

I was in Abu Dhabi yesterday (currently working in Dubai). The cars were far less low key...however, on the way back I got overtaken by a Carrera GT with 2 lovely blondes driving at about 130mph....nice...

PS saw Sheik Mohammed, Ruler of Duabi, in hi G Wagen last week. He drives himself. Its white and simply has the number plate "1". So cool you wouldnt believe. Given this guy can have any car he wants, its interesting that he and his people all drive G Wagens- must be something special about them!
