Do it. Report back. (Maybe let me have a shot too.) smile

What could possibly go wrong, etc etc...

O/T Just got myself an Oxford Green II / Heritage Caramel M5, seem to remember you had the same combo.

Oh and Mikey... very tempting.
Good man!

Not my old car is it?

Yours has the later nav (although isn't facelift judging by the wheel) so don't think so. Mines V107.. Its great - still getting to grips with it.

Yours has extended leather by the look of it, Jonny's has the standard Heritage (black door trims/mats/ plastic rather than leather lower dash etc).

nice.

Yes I think mine was extended (luck rather than judgement when I found it!).

It came with the original invoice. £75k IIRC in 1999. It was W901 KBU, but I had an M% plate on and the new owner got a private plate too.

It was a ore-facelift, but I fitted the widescreen Nav to it.

Just watching Jezza throw a CLS55 round on an old TG. Very nice, and a real bargain in 500 guise. I do like the matt dash too.

I think it looks great, much better than the regular CLS, which has an unacceptably droopy arse.

But that is the whole point of the cls - its droopy arse. Its a 4 door coupe. Otherwise you buy an E class -right?

So now they make a 4 door coupe estate - just seems like madness.

6 Series Gran Coupe manages to have a pert bum. Even the old CLS looked more crisp.

OK

My point is not about the crispness for the shape.

The CLS was always meant to be the 4 door coupe. Maybe something for the gentlemen who needs doors for kids but doesn't want to give up his self esteem and buy an E class saloon when he really wants a CL or CLK or now we have the E class coupe. OK this I understand.

Then they make a CLS estate - this I dont understand.

Will VW start making a Passat CC estate?

Probably. I saw some renders for a BMW 6 Grand Coupe Touring, which is not what they called it. It looked lick

I see it as Merc's Panamera.

It's niche marketing; something the Germans seem to have a knack for doing - generally very profitably.

I have hitherto been of the same opinion of the CLS re: droopy arse syndrome, however I think my views on it are softening. I think it represents a lot of car for the money, and has a certain exclusivity about it.
