I've been watching Suits (slick lawyers) and instead of rolling in a Benz the main guy has a Lexus. Nice bit of kit and a slightly left field choice. Any experience?

Momentous car. Cant help but think £12.5k is big money for a 7 year old car with £130k on the clock.
It was 13k when I posted it.
Now £11,995
As a trader you must be thinking this will take an age to shift? Even at 12 large its a lot of car to maintain.
I have one. They're no more than any other 5 to maintain. Fuel is a different story obviously.
Now £10,995.
£9,995
A PH'er has bought this now. Not me.

Had mine 15 months. Not many problems:

AC never worked - probably the rad.
Rear Shocks and bushes for MOT.
Bonnet catch repaired.

Then just tyres and fuel.

To be fair, you'd have to do quite a bit of town driving to be sub 20 mpg. I comfortably averaged 21mpg in the M5 and a 550i is going to be better in the same circumstances.

If you average £200 a corner for a set then you're either going exclusively for Super Sports or getting ripped off. hehe

100 a corner give or take. They're only 245/40/18 ferchrissakes.

Seriously, people have this massive fear when you mention it's got a V8. But they wouldn't bat an eyelid if you got a 520D. The engine is the most reliable bit of the car. Everything that fked up on mine was electrical gubbins.

The 550 is actually pretty good on fuel. Mine averaged 26mpg over the life of my ownership (62k miles).

I like to think I give mine a bit of hammer and I think the computer shows 21.9 average. I honestly dont care. It cost me £8000 and its surprisingly fast for such a big wagon.

Quite lovely.

If it was manual (does it exist?) it would be a great 'Nearly manual M5'.
