I loved my 323i. Black with a 4-speed gearbox. Managed to hit the rev-limiter in 4th going down the "Tingwall Straight" in Shetland

Taught me all about oversteer

My proudest moment in it was one year when I was a service crew for a mate on the Tour of Mull. I got a shout on the CB that he'd broken down. I set off to assist him and in the process caught up and overtook a competing rally car on the Tobermory - Dervaig road

Thats a good first car & considerably better than my 1256c Cavalier bought at a discount from a family member.

Now if that Chevette was a 2.3 litre twin cam twin carb HS or HSR it would have given the 2.3 litre 323i a good run for its money and probably been less tail happy in the process!
