Nice to see a quality write up! As everyone else is posting pics of their cars, a snapshot of my pride and joy resting on the Cat and Fiddle.

Taking the Grale over the Cat & Fiddle is an experience and a half, i remember going to Macclesfield to test drive a VW R32 when they first came out and going in the grale, by the time i got to the dealership i was knacked, the grale was just amazing and the R32 was a complete disapointment, slow and felt like a tank, my friend drove my grale back to Sheffield and totally fell in love with it, he just could'nt beleive the feed back it gave him and confidence

Nino

Me slightly locked up at Curborough............ NO ABS

Hi,

Lots of posts saying these cars bankrupt you or words to that effect.
When I bought my second Grale I went with the seller to a specialist, and
he went over the car with me (at sellers cost) for half an hour.

Since then (18 months ago) and I drive it nearly everyday, and the only failure I've had was a wheel bearing.

My point is take someone that knows grales, if you're going to look at one to buy.

Any high performance car that is not cared for will cost a lot of money in the end, be it Lancia, Subaru, TVR, etc. etc. etc

Exactly. Spending a bit of time and money at the beginning to find a good car saves spending a lot of time and money afterwards if you buy the first cheap one you see.

Great pic guys!!

My father had a brand new one in 1992. I was only 8 years old and loved it to pieces. He only kept it 3 years. Wish i knew where it was now.

Making me very sad reading all this.

I sold my Evo 2 many years ago to make way for a more GT-like daily driver. What a stupid mistake. The only car I've truly genuinely regretted selling.

Seems to be a massive discrepancy in price between different examples of the same model. I've been watching the market for a few years in the hope of picking one up when I return to Blighty eventually, but prices have not dropped for maybe 7 years!

Future classic status guaranteed. If you want one, get in there now.

WOW!!!! Great to see my old grale again.
It's good to know she's been reliable for you and having such fun at a wonderful location.
I too used her almost everyday, in my opinion the best thing to do.
Thanks to this article it has now stirred up those feelings for owning
one again.

I have someone looking at my 911 this afternoon, I've looked at getting an Exige, 993 even an Alfa GT Junior.....

I've admired the 'Grale for a very long time; seeing Kankunnen (sp), Auriol, Sainz etc blast the Martini Livered beast to victory after victory was awesome to watch as a young petrolhead.

An Integrale Evo will be my next car and should be in my hands in the next few weeks as long as a good one comes up.

Wish me luck

Well, this was mine. As you can probably tell by the way it's sat, it was far from standard.

Hi Deltona,

Yes, I'm extremely happy with her, and I think she likes driving the open twisty roads round here.
Just a great car, thanks for letting me own her.

Standard Mit Evo 5/6/7/8/9 etc would not lose one down country lanes, these cars are even faster in the wet! I'm talking over 100mph not 60 by the way, pushing any of the cars beyond this would prob end up in death.

Torsion V Viscous diffs are also far better for feel, always felt a slight delay with the Mit Evo, the Lanica giving instant feedback.

One was boring to drive, the other is a racing car.

im telling you an fq360 is a much much much faster car to any speed.
look it up on google. integrale 0-100 17.5secs evofq360 0-100 10 secs. thats a big margin.

well there is a big difference between 0-100 times and point-to-point - look at yank muscle cars!

Personally I don't know which is faster point to point, a 'grale or a Mitsubishi Evo - never having had the pleasure of either. I would guess the current M/Evos are quicker as they are much later generation cars- but even if they are, i would still rather a 'grale as it has character, and not just packed full of electronics.

But hey, I wouldn't be upset if someone gave me either for free!!

Hi, how can you compare a 360bhp model Mitsi against a 210/215bhp Lancia Evo, now get a same BHP Lancia and it maybe a different story, it will definatley be a scary ride in a grale rather than the Evo, the Lancia is def a more involved drive as there are no computers saving you everytime a corner comes, Lancia is much more of a drivers car and the earlier Grale's with NO ABS are much more of a challenge.......i know which i would have everytime.

I can confirm that a 330bhp Integrale will show an Evo, even an FQ 360 a clean pair of Compomotives .wink

You're missing the point!!!! It's not all about 0-60,0-100 & top speed...
...it's the feedback you get with the grale, you feel part of the car.
Which you don't get in the Jap cars, they are computer controlled, not really driver involved is it?
