Strange.
There was a whole thread on here of Porsche Cayenne owners comparing mpg but not one has been entered in the table.

Never been anal enough to work out my MPG in my DC5 and I really couldn't give a monkey's chuff what the fuel consumption is.
I put V-Power in and when the needle gets to the E mark...I put more V-Power in.

According to my maths thats between 27 [300 miles] and 25 [280] mpg if you drain the whole tank before refilling.

thats kind of what i expected - thought the trip would be about 10% 'better'

However, like a speedo your odometer will also be optimistic, i.e. It will show more miles than you actually travelled...

You need to look at receipts for fuel to know how much you have actually put it. Assuming the pumps are not charging you for more than they deliver.

Passat 2.0tdi 140s.

Constant 32mpg at 95+units of speed.

Any other large cars get much better?

520d? More than likely

Eclass 220cdi or 320cdi? probably better as I imagine the new 7speeds probably have much higher gearing?

My friend has an 08 520d manual and he says he sees over 40 at 95+.

Has anyone seen the new figures quoted by BMW for Petrol 3 series. A 330i caught my eye in the classifieds because it stated 173g/km which sounded very very low for a 3 litre petrol. I checked the BMW site and this is what they are quoting along with 272bhp and 50mpg extra urban!!! Taking into consideration the 10 - 15% difference in the price of petrol compared to diesel at the pumps it looks like a better buy than a 330d to me.

The trip computer in my 525d (E60 3.0l) says I've averaged 43.2mpg over the last 12 months and 41k. That's mainly motorway, but also a good mix of town centre/spirited use of the left foot. Have had a lot more out of it when sat at 60-70 for really long journey's.

Am thoroughly impressed with it.

I'm was lookin on auto trader and found this 330i coupe. The description says "New 272Bhp Euro 4 model, with 173g/Km emmissions." In technical data it says 50.4 mpg for extra urban. I think that is very impressive.

The 330i does NOT have 50.4mpg or173g/km emissions!!!

Just checked, apparently it DOES have 173 emissions. That's quite something (or they're somehow cheating the tests!!

39mpg tho, not 50.
