Most of the fun is in the acceleration, surely? And I bet that goes like stink.

I had a Metro which would top out at about 100, not particularly fast, but it could hit 60mph in under 3 seconds. In the list of 'performance' criteria (particularly with our roads being clogged and photographed) top speed for me comes at the bottom. Acceleration and handling are right at the top.

Thats the thing these days, top end performance is all very well, but acceleration and handling are far more important, as i would suggest, is light weight. That way you could run a smaller, less poluting engine, pay less tax and have more all round fun. It's the same with motorbikes, a bmw s1000rr,ducati1198/yamahaR1 is all very well, but when you cant use a tenth of the performance on the road, whats the point, whereas with something smaller, lighter and with top notch handling, is just as much fun, and you can use more of the performance without getting into big trouble, be it plod trouble, or accident trouble. At least thats mho anyway

BAH! My first car was an FRST and I've been considering another one of late.

Not a fan of the lights or wheels on yours but the Moondust ones are pretty rare and it appeared to be in good nick. What was it running under the bonnet?

I still think we have at least two definitions of "modified" here.

One is wheels, spoilers, skirts, ICE, and other phat stuff innit. Yeah, it's a standard engine but it looks well sick, bruv.

The other is sleeper-spec, mechanicals and performance are the major focus and anything else is pretty functional or secondary.

I know which camp I am in but sadly it makes for poor photos since by definition it is all hidden.

Indeedy ding dang do.

So it's down to us in that camp to put up a description of the work too rather than just a picture.

Because on the merit of just a picture, that Dhalback looks jobbie.

Sorry mods were, spax springs & dampers, abs removed, cosworth front discs and pads, 16" RS diamond cut wheels, mongoose 2.5" rolled out exhaust full system, 195 chip, cosworth filter, beige injectors, cosworth fuel pump, forge intercooler, T3 turbo conversion. Didn't have much of a stereo just alpine head unit

Really ?

WTF was in that ?

I've had some very fast cars but they were limited by traction to above 4 seconds.

What is this - Changing Rooms? Old, tatty and rough are all suitable words. 'Distressed is what furniture looks like after Lawrence Lewellen Bowen has finished with it.
