Is this for real or to demonstrate?

Be staggered that someone had so little imagination with so much money...
No its real alright, each to his own

Having started this thread and seen all the contributions I have concluded that the garages fall into two categories, first we have the showrooms like Funky's which I currently think sits at the top of that pile and then we have the best of the working Garages like King Herald', Mystic Blue and the one posted by Dirty Boy. Unless you have another opinion? Well done to all of you.

OK, now that is nice, now the big question, working garage or a showroom? Also how many cars can you get in there?

You presume correct sir smile
I have been caught out in the rain in it once or twice, but I avoid it whenever possible. That's what the Jag is for after all wink
You light weight...LOL, I would also therefore presume your car has not turned up on the "Who has the dirtiest Supercar" thread then?

Nice one CY88, you certainly dont lack the space. Can I ask what that car is parked in the gloom, it looks like it might have a split screen at the back?

Hey thanks , heating is a stand alone system , it was a paint to put in to be fair but really is the best thing we did in there , great for winter detailing!

P
I have heating in mine, just waiting for the radiator to be fitted but mine is part of the house system.

BigGameHunter, can I ask where you got that tool box from, it looks great?

Funnily enough this item was from the upcoming Autosports international show from the "International Tool Co" company , list was £1100 but we got it for £875 with some tools & a jack , god knows what deal they will do this time round the way things are!
Nice, I presume that was the show price. I will check them out as I will be going this year. Thanks

I'm guessing mine might be the whitest, although it's nothing like this tidy any more;

I can't even fit a car in it at the moment, probably breaking some cardinal rule of PH....

smile
Mine used to be fairly white but a bit busier now !
OK I give up, what is it?

Julian, I respect your opinion but I don’t agree with it. I too have built and maintained my specialist cars for the last 30 years but my every day run about is maintained by the dealer.

Not everyone has the ability to maintain their cars and as we all know bad maintenance can be down right dangerous.

When my new garage is finished it will be to the same standard of Funcky's but it will be a working garage but will be kept clean.

How many of us have the specialist tools to look after an Enzo or computer based diagnostic equipment some of these cars need.

I started this thread because I love garages, both the show room type and working ones; they all look good to me

Tony M, I love your style, hotrods and supercars, a man after my own hart. I have an Audi R8 V10 on order and am hoping to start my 36 Ford 3 window coupe hotrod project later this year.

Can I ask, did you build the 32 and are you UK based as I dont remember seeing it before?

The lathe was second hand from an elderly chap in potters bar, who worked as an engineer his whole life. He planned his retirement around that lathe and the lifetimes ambition to build a steam engine all his own. Just after he bought the lathe from myford, he became blind, and loss the feeling in his fingers. This aparently was due to rampant undiagnosed diabetes. This stopped him from being able to use the lathe. I left his house with that lathe and both he and his wife were in tears to see it go. (Although I think her tears might have been tears of happiness as I removed it from their front living room, and he was obviously having a lot of problem seeing it go).

The Mill is a warco Major. Bought new from the company at the london model engineering exhibition.

The lift was from a local company that supplied a local garage, and I was impressed with it so I added another to their order smile.

Most of the stuff has been slowly bought from one exhibition or another for the last ten years. Even if I never drive a car there is a lot to play with smile. Too busy playing with stuff in there to look at paintings on the wall smile
Thanks Julian, also good to hear where that kind of stuff comes from. I will be on the look out myself soon
