Who has the best Garage on Pistonheads?

Very helpful, thanks! I like the door idea, too.
What’s the ceiling height going to be?
Tbh ive struggled to find pics of garages with cars in them, and the measurements. It’d probably give some comfort to see a 6m wide garage with to normal/sportscars in it.
Fans are not a bad idea too, or maybe even IR panels. I might chuck in the underfloor regardless as it’s relatively low cost to throw in before screeding. I’m hoping i can control myself and keep just two ‘garaged’ cars, and thus avoid the need for a lift and associated high roofline
I went for folding doors as I can open up one panel without letting all the heat out and when all panels are folded back they won't protrude enough to reduce the width of the openingWhat’s the ceiling height going to be?

Ceiling on the left side is around 2.35m in the photo but I've yet to scree as the lift post foot plates will be below the finished floor height to save me tripping over them all the time. Finished ceiling height will be around 2.2m, tall enough to get a 4x4 in with roof tent and lift a car up high enough to work on it with a stool for wheel/brake work
On the right side ceiling height is around 6m high, that side is like a church
Not sure if tyres like underfloor heating, you may want to do some searching on that as I could see over time the heat hardening up the tyres, especially if it's a sticky compound
What cars will be in your garage?

But the thread is about garages, not the cars in them.
Who cares .. just look at those two .. i like the colour of the Murcie RichB said:

Finally starting my garage build. Had some architects round (want to make it a bit ‘grand designs’ rather than the traditional box with a big door); but as yet undecided what/how.
Going to build a double, have just enough room - i think perhaps max would be 6.5x6 given space constraints - can’t decide whether to have the 6.5 as extra width or extra length.
Based on experience of those that have built - any key recommendations aside from the usual ‘big as possible’ (that’s a given)?
realistically it’s going to have some shallow storage cupboards in it somewhere, and the goal is two cars - ideally whereby one could be stored to one side and the other have sufficient room to walk around/work on, perhaps with the least intrusive lift possible (flush/buried in the floor with tiles embedded to hide it as much as possible). Likely going to put a side door in too.
I also would like to insulate and heat it (perhaps elec underfloor), so doors for this are going to be important. It will also have to look good.
I would go length, it is always nice having space at the bottom for the shelving that down the sides. This is my new garage, it is a little bigger at 7.2m depth and 6.5m wide, but that depth has really helped (previously had a 5.2x5 that struggled to get a car in with shelves) Going to build a double, have just enough room - i think perhaps max would be 6.5x6 given space constraints - can’t decide whether to have the 6.5 as extra width or extra length.

Yep, mine is a wide single but is just under 7 metres long - the extra length is critical and makes all the difference. Enough to run a bench across the back, get in and do things, move about, work on things on the bench etc while the car is there. If the cars in forward, you get plenty of room to work under the bonnet near your tools too.
6 wide by 6.5 long better than the opposite IMO.
Scale drawing for reference:
Position of pedestrian door was carefully chose to suit the above layout.
Just shows that with a small/medium car, theres plenty of room to work. I can service the E class in there too, but its a bit tighter on length.
