Seems that website is worth checking daily. Yesterday they had a refurbished 8L one for £89, today a refurbished done is £125. I almost bought an 8L one yesterday and then saw that it doesn't have the mobile phone app that the 10L one has, and that would be useful because my garage is not connected to my house. I will check daily to see if a refurbished 10L one pops up smile
Yes the phone app is really handy, as like you my garage is separate to the main house. On cold wet nights I can keep an eye on what's happening with it, then boost the heat in conjunction too if needed

Not wanting to turn this into my garage build thread, but thought just to update as more major work today:

Beams in and positioned to create the upper floor for all the usual garage crap and make ground floor more car showroom / workshop (that might be hard side by side to pull off).

And then, for some reason the developer of the new build didn't put any access doors into the garage apart from the big ones at the front, so I have decided to remedy that too... as direct access from the house without having to go into the sodding rain (especially as 2024 is the year of the rain) is key for man garage happiness

Actually... might go and create a garage build thread smile

Got the keys to the new place today. First double garage, and the old nails have had a good go at destroying my jumper. Oh and one of the greyhounds has already christened the place by pissing in front of the door within five minutes.
Congrats Nathan, exciting times. What are the plans with it?
The previous garage user, now sadly not with us, I don’t believe used it as a car garage; it was the workshop for his plumbing business. That means it was full of nails, glued jam jar tops and so on. After many opportunities for Tetanus, that is now sorted.
I’m not a handsy enthusiast - I swapped out the coolant bottle on the 145 recently and felt like I’d conquered Mars - but I’m aiming for something a bit like an art gallery with cars in it.
Largely as my fellow hack Alex Goy once said in a podcast, my home is full of tubes - car art left wrapped for months, if not years.
I’ve been going through the thread backwards and I like the idea of wooden flooring and walls.

With wooden flooring, is it advisable to treat it like the concrete floor and put two levels of resin on top? Can anyone advise as other than in this thread I’ve not seen it other than fancy Aston dealers

Yup. They will be bud. I binned off all my personal and blog social media and channels two years ago. They were on my you tube channel so the links are broken now.

Pics are still there as they’re hosted on imageshack.

Don't blame you. My entire online presence is here, instagram (completely passive - I never post), and a couple of tiny specialist online forums for model railways. I've abandoned the cesspit of Twitter and closed Facebook years ago. And what's tiktok?

Cheers ED, at least we’ve escaped the snow today. Hopefully spring is only around the corner and we get some good driving days

I was to create a freestanding class display cube for one of my cars by the ide of my house. So that I can look at my car from my house biglaugh has anyone got any ideas on this? I was thinking of one of those metal pergolas with glass walls

How about a commercial glazing company?

This is just an obvious ruse to get another garage space because you've finally realised your 'new' garage is too small. biggrin
