New Leon kicks the LCR's ass too, and the ST's. Looks seem to be hate it or love it. Those that loved the LCR hate the new Leon Cupra. Atleast its less boring than the GTI and the interior isnt bad, considering what you are getting for your money.

Got to disagree with you on the interior front. It is singularly the most disappointing aspect of the car. It's like they ran out of ideas when it came to styling the dash - the vast expanse of nasty, grey painted, cheap buttoned plastic aurrounding the hi-fi and air-con controls is hideous.

When you can pick up a brand new Leon Cupra with 240hp for 17k what exactly do you expect. You are already getting plenty car for your money, SEAT is there to offer the performance without the premium of a high quality interior as not everyone could care less about it. I mean if you want to pay a extra 5 grand minimum for the Golf ED30 which will still be inferior performance wise then do so, but the SEAT is aimed at a younger audience who really doesnt care all that much. Personally I would save the 5 grand and get those big brakes with it.

Well Skoda seem to have done quite a lot better for pretty much the same money......

The last gen Leon used a downgraded A3 interior. It may not have used as high quality plastics as the A3 but at least it was relatively attractive.

That yellow one with BBS wheels looks ok.

Just a shame there isn't an S3 drivetrain underneath because that would actually be quite cool/appealing!

A Cupra R version maybe... smile

I hate the look of the Leon normally... So why do I like that one in white? hehe

Would be tempted by one of those!... Wait, who just said that?

Yeah - I love the leon but I have to agree with that - not so much the inteior but dash board - Its the same in the Altea - But then of course VW were never going to allow the cheaper Leon to have as good an interior as the Golf - It makes sense - If you want a really nice interior buy an Audi S3 - It is a bummer that the seat has a crap dash board but it wouldn't put me off buying one - likewise I wouldn't be put of an Octavia vRS because of the badge

Nor me. The ride is the only reason I'd not by a LCR. Way too hard.

I would expect the interior quality of, say, a Focus ST.

With a bit of cash left over for a nice holiday.

The SEAT Leon & by the sound of it this GTI 240 are just remaps of the standard GTI.

Whereas the GTI Edition 30 is a detuned version of the S3 engine, that is capable of at least 265.

I have an article from Volkswagen Driver Magazine that states the fact when dicussing an upgrade to 300BHP by tuners APS.
Anyone interested, let me know and I will send you the article.

I drive an edition 30 with DSG, and I know I will be consider biased but it is just a fantastic all-round car.
Very comfortable, loads of space, goes like stink when it needs to, otherwise the wife can drive it like miss daisy.

yeh i hate the look of the new leon usually but those wheels could make even a micra look cool.

just realised its not the standard front bumper either and its lowered and probably got lots of other mods so it was not just the wheels.
just goes to show with about £3k-£4k you can make even an ugly leon look nice. (bet it would look much better in a different colour though)
