OT Mark, have you had a go in the IROC?
I've moved it around but not had a proper go I am taking out the CGT at some point
The kettle is always on mate, same for anyone off PH passing the door, come and have a brew and a look around.
....honestly, the CGT isn't straight, look! and green and red should never be seen together should they? they need shifting, no dont get up, I know where the keys are, I'll just pop it down to the roundabout to turn it round....

"Oh the Boxter is so great I wanna suck it off!" kind of thing, I couldn't really care. Didn't want a real Porsche sir?

Are you serious?RR
Have you driven a Boxster? I personally haven't, so I certainly wouldn't slate it.
You don't even have a license?
I was under the impression it was generally regarded as one of the best cars in its class?
I can only assume when you purchase your first car, that it's going to be the top of range model in that Marque?
RR
So, because you don't like the looks of the Boxster, it isn't a real Porsche?
blah.

Why didn't I see this thread before? Very funny.
Personally, I just don't see the benefit of replicas like this. Ok, I do kind of understand things like the Porsche Speedster and AC Cobra replicas since they are not in production and are iconic designs (and have been for decades). However, copies of more recent cars just never work. Even the most accurate don't look right to those who know, and unfortunately I am one of those.
Supercars are designed and built for the terminally insane with too much money. In all reality we wouldn't buy them. They are an utter and complete waste of money, but for some reason they keep selling (and in recent years, more and more of them!). Why? Its the image. Its the willy waving. Its the whole ownership thing.... Would I buy one if I could afford it? Damn right. Would I strive for a cheap model that's really an MR2 underneath? Not on your nelly....
Its got to be the full hog or not at all. A Lambo without a V12? A Ferrari with a 4 pot turbo? A Carrera GT with a flat 6? Nope - doesn't work and never will. The DNA of these cars is so tightly wrapped up with their engines. Even if they are crap, they are the whole thing, not just the design and look. The CGT is a stunning piece of German engineering and no ammount of slapping rouge on and strapping a supercharger on a flat 6 will ever get close to that wailing V10 with low mass flywheel and almost F1 like scream...... its just never going to happen.
So that leaves the looks as the only real reason why anyone buys one of these (IMHO). They want to give the impression that they can afford such cars, but clearly cant. For this reason alone, I am completely turned off. Why on earth would I talk to, never mind trust anyone, who is prepared to try and pass off their car as something its clearly not. Maybe I am being extreme, but its almost like lying.
Nope, looks crap (clearly NOT a CGT), doesn't have the right engine and is a bit of a dogs dinner. Then again, I would NEVER be a buyer for one of these. If I really wanted a CGT but coudlnt afford it, I would buy something else instead. I WOULDN'T buy a replica in an effort to make it look like I could afford one.

Well, that's your view, isn't it?
I'd think it was the view of the vast majority of people who's experience of cars extends past what they have wked over in EVO. No offence mate but claiming it's not a "real Porsche" because you don't like the styling of the bodywork has got to be the lamest attempt to justify an an opinion I've ever heard.Ren-Raku
My view is that of being informed, having driven most incarnations of the 911 since the 1988 Sport,(plus a passenger in some even rarer stuff, RUF CTR, 964 Turbo S, 993 RSR) having been involved in purchasing a Boxster S within the last 3 weeks for my mother, and having 10 years + of karting and racing experience, plus a good few laps of the Ring in a variety of NA and Turbo machinery, in Front, Rear and 4WD.
I dont usually blow my own trumpet and you are welcome to read any of my postings to confirm this, I dont blag, but you know nothing sonny.
Now go and bore someone else.
