I would pay monthly to not have a Megane.
My old one has only just been taxed again, six months after I PX'd it in a bit of a sorry state.

I'd have my first car back just for giggles. It was a mk2 Fiesta 'bonus' , black bodywork and bright orange pepperpots, xr2 bodykit/brakes, koni adjustable shocks and a cherry bomb exhaust - ah the good ol days.

Hell no, a black mk1 mondeo that broke down every fortnight (could set your watch by it), fk that.

I'd have my E34 back though, awesome car for a 19yr old biggrin

Hells yeah!

Even though at 6'6" I could only drive it with my shoes off. Taken from us too early by an inattentive a white van man frown

Yes purely for nostalgic reasons. A 1985 Pug 205 in Beige with brown seats isn't the top of most peoples desirability list but 4 gears, no power steering, a manual choke all would be a good reminder of how I started my driving career. If I was ever lucky enough to win the lottery I would find it and restore it to new along with my first bike (Fizzy).

No, I had a Renault Clio with electrical problems.

So, basically it was a Renault.

Probably not, but I'd take its 'high-performance' version (it's all relevant, but 8.5 seconds was pretty quick for a small saloon in the mid-70s) - The Triumph Dolomite Sprint.

My first car? No, although I'm grateful to my Dad for giving me it in the first place and allowing me to use it as a part-ex;

Got £2k for it against one of these;

I'd have the Scirocco back in a flash though, it was a cracking little car.

Great thread I see a recurring theme here my first car a 1969 MKII Morris Mini SDL 1000 I still own it after over 15 years but if I had of sold it then would I have it back in a word YES it needs a bit of TLC now welding on the cill but its got a stage one head RC40 Exhuast, 10" Wheels. hydrolastic suspension and drums all round noisy as hell but so so much fun. It go me in to all things Mini/MINI.

I've got some discs for it and a Downton head too which I want to try and fit over the winter oh and a set of Dunlop D1 alloys too.

Funny how most people who have owned a Mini would have it back given the chance.

My old vauxhall omega...

I loved that rusty little piece of crap and its the car that introduced me to rwd

If i got it back... it would need a bigger motor though as that 2.0 was gutless

1959 Morris 1000 Traveller. Bought for £190 in 1968 with 40k miles. Sold for £170 in 1971 at 85k miles. Lovely little car, I would have it back anytime. And g/f too! Just kidding Mrs Lowndes!

Yes, but not for nostalgia. I'd take it back because it's the best car I've ever run, I'm keeping my eyes open for another one anyway, and now I'd (almost) be able to afford to look after it properly!

Yes. But having checked DVLA and askMID I think it's been scrapped years ago!

Undoubtedly yes.My first three cars in fact I would have back. Well first two were my parents but I used them as much as my folks. E30 325i and open Padgett. My first car I owned was a proton 1.5gl. Awesome thing.

Definitely yes. A 1972 Hillman Avenger 1500 Super in Harvest Gold metallic NYM 371L. As a spotty yoof, that car taught me how to drive as much as my driving instructor. Totally reliable but died of rust when about 18 years old.

Still miss it.

Skoda Rapid.

A bit crude but simple to work on, cheap and fun to drive.

If I come across one and have the time/space I'll fit 205's on the rear, 185's on the front, lower it a bit and fit a fiat twin cam.

Sad that they're nearly extinct, only a handful left IIRC.

My first one my dad bought in 73 or thereabouts and then gave to me in about 89 when I won a Golf GTI in the Daily Mirror, I sold him the Golf for a discount and the Capri was part of the deal, it was getting a bit crusty on the front wings so I sold it and bought a later 1.6 LS.

I was offered it back int he mid nineties (he sent a letter) by the current owner but didn't have the money, space, time or inclination, it used to be a 1600 GT-XLR but appears to have gained a V6 at some point, was surprised to find it still taxed a few years back but looking now its not been taxed for over three years which suggests its either dead or being restored, or just stuck to one side, perhaps for parts ?

Have had a look on Ebay occasionally but never spotted it, am hoping that it managed to get to an age where people routinely save them, the Mark 1 Capri seems to be getting a bit more attention these days, like the Mk1 and 2 Escorts have done.

So, yes, if I were able I would have it back in a flash, and do what needs doing.

Yes, it was an unexciting Peugeot 405 1.9TD GLX Diesel estate, manual with a clutch like an old bus, but I loved the old shed. I bought it before I passed my test, and used it to practice in. Completely reliable, really economical and took me all over England, Scotland and Wales with no complaints and helped me move house. Great first car, probably would be a shock compared to the Merc I drive now though. Had 185k on it when I had to sell it when I moved abroad for a bit, it's still on the road somewhere according to dvla...
