No..NO..NO..NO..NO

I had an Austen 1100 back in 1984.

It met a rather nasty end when hit in the side by an old Wolesley. It was on a banger track at the time - but still my first car.

Mk 1 850 Mini with spongy brakes, no synchro on the gears, fug-stirrer heater, so noisy when flat out (at 70) that my hearing has never been the same since. I'm just glad that vehicle design and engineering has progressed so no thanks.

If I had space and could have my first car back pre accident (It ended up getting intermate (sp?)with a Renault Espace), then yes I would. It was a drum braked 1000 cc mini and it represents most things I still enjoy about motoring ie hamering round the local B roads an getting my hands dirty !

Yes although not for the car Austin 1300, but for the number plate DJU1K as it was worth more than the car.

The first car I ever bought?...that would be the Griff 500. Would I have it back? - maybe for the noise, but the Tuscan made it feel...slow.

Hmmmm.... never actually owned my own car until three years ago.... was lucky enough to have company vehicles from the age of 19!!!

First vehicle was a "B" reg Diesel Bedford Astravan... Heap of junk!

First car was an "E" reg Vauxhall Nova 1.2L.... I had the car from brand new (it had 17 miles on the clock when I picked it up) It was reliable as hell... broke down once when the coolant expansion tank split and the car overheated.

It had 117,000 miles on the clock (and was only three years old) when it was replaced.... I would have that car back tomorrow! (The management needs a cheap to insure runaround.....)
