I couldn't have my white (with red boot lid) XR3i back even if I wanted too.... I drove it into a kerb and it subsequently went round right hand bends without the need to steer.....

No way !
M.G. Metro Turbo.
It spent more time in the garage being fixed than it did on the road. I blew the Turbo on it less than a mile down the road after taking delivery !
Fond memories though I admit.

Mk1 1.3 Ghia fiesta in gold, I parked it in the side of an ice cream van via a grass verge, fence, and white sierra estate.

After what myself and my brothers did to it? No way.. Hopefully it has completely rusted away and noone tried to fix it. More rust than metal even when we bought it, (£150 worth of rust pretending to be a mini..)

most unequivocally yes!! 1100 cc mini clubman estate (can you see a theme here )tight squeeze for a bloke of 6'4" but great fun. Only problem was I kept being made the nominated driver as my car had the most seats

Hmmm. D reg 1.0 4-speed Polo Coupe. In Jade Green.

Would I have it back?

Perhaps. It was reliable and got you there. For the memories, yes, I suspect I'd run it again.

Difficult however, as my sister attempted to open the side of a Focus doing 50mph with it. She now looks left *AND* right when joining main roads.....

No thanks, VW Beetle 1500 - Twas great fun and I had a ball in it, went to Bug Jam, VW Action, Run to the Sun, etc.

Proceeded to barrel roll it though, only straight panel was the boot lid, bent front beam, bent and destroyed rear driveshaft and gearbox. Think it was crushed..........

No, not in a million years. It was a mk. III Escort estate. Horrible car, a total shed. The last owner repainted it. With a brush. Without washing it first. And he couldn't reach the roof, so there was a line in a different shade of red running down the middle of it.

The day I p-xed it, it wouldn't start, then the only way to keep it running was to keep the revs high. So I drove it down to the dealer's with my foot flat to the floor and using the handbrake to stop.

It was still in precisely the same place in their car park a week later.

"Would you have your first car back?"

No, becuase it has probably now been made into nails, manhole covers and scaffolding bars!

(It was a very old Fiat 128, my best car for rallying yet!)

No, 1st car was a left hand drive Mk 4 Cortina (Taunus). As I'd just passed my test (in an HGV) I'd developed the habit of positioning myself just to the left of the white line. Fine, as far as it goes, but rubbish when the steering wheel's on the wrong side. Kept hitting traffic islands!

My next 4 cars were all Series 2 & 3 Daimler Sovereigns and Jaguars. I'd have any of those back - especially the XJ12!

for sure...it was a Lancia HPE VX 1984... but it has probably rusted into the ground by now... lovely supercharged engine... felt like a V6 ... quirky electrics... often didnt start...rosso red with black trim... got lots of looks... although more from older guys that had always wanted to own one... rather than cute girls... hence my move to a series 6 rx7!

Not sure whether I would, it was a brown Manta 1.8s and was falling apart when I got rid of it 10 years ago.

I did see last year the car I learned to drive in, passed my test in and was my Dad's first ever car bought from new.

A Flambeau Red Orion Equipe 1.6.
It was one of the last of the line ones with alloys, colour moulded bumbers, Ghia interior and boot spoiler.

I wouldn't mind having that back

NO! I had a Renault 12 TS Estate. It had once been yellow but the previous owner had painted it Hammerite Gold with a brush and you could see the original yellow on the roof...

Still - it did do something for the rust...until the rear suspension came up through the bodywork - which then rested on the tyres and brought me to a halt very quickly indeed!

The gearbox once fell out from under my hand as I was changing gear as the engine/gearbox mounts gave way and the rear of the gearbox scraped along the ground.

Finally whilst thrashing it one night the engine blew.

What a total shed.

Still. I have fond memories of it. Or rather. What I got up to in it..

You bet. I still have dreams about mine.

Mk 1 1600GT Capri, 1972 vintage. Weighed tonnes, really slow but heaps of character (and a wash wipe you activiated/pumped with your foot )

Wasn't MLY 769L by any chance?
