Would you have your first car back?
Discussion
Not a chance unless it was to set fire to it and watch it burn.
Fat chance though as it was a 1967 Morris 1100 in Red, and optional brown of course.;)
Traded it in for a new Morris Marina, what a dog, and eventually traded that in for a new Escort Sport MK2 1600 in signal yellow. Would have that one back in a flash.

Any day, though it was looking a little dirty last time I saw it. 1993 'L' BG Mazda 323 LX 1.3i 16v. Lovely engine, lovely gearbox, good steering, light, chuckable, nippy and trouble free. Never wanted for anything in the 12yrs it was in the family. It was immaculate when I sold it in 2008 with a genuine 54,000mi on the clock and an absolutely factory fresh interior. The underside was spot-less and the bodywork was really good for its age too, it just sported a couple of light car-park dings. I have absolutely no doubt that a couple of tiny paintless dent removals and a slight paint touch-up on one front corner and the OSR wheel arch would have had it in concours condition. I often think of it and miss it. It's replacement wasn't even a quarter of the little Mazda.
Probably not. Peugeot 205 Trio... with a 954cc engine. Very reliable little car and really didn't owe me anything but quite spectacularly slow, handling was comical, and I think if I crashed it anything less than 20MPH I'd have either died or been seriously injured!
Things have moved on!

My first was a VW Lupo 1.0.
Lowered it on some really good coilovers, little 15" Ronal Turbo alloys and sticky tyres, was great fun to drive and a brill first car. Sold it and the guy made it banana shaped within weeks.
The car I'd really want back was my 2nd car, 96' VW Corrado 16v. Best handling FWD car I've ever driven, felt special to drive for a cheap car. Still regret selling it

A36 NWW.
The Devils own chariot!
MG Metro! What a heap! I'd had it 2 weeks when the engine blew. It then developed a habit of having the gear stick fall thru the floor. I got quite handy at replacing the bobbins that held the gear linkage box on so that wasn't a problem. It leaked water from the sunroof. It constantly had a smell of those orangey air fresheners (traffic light thingys). It was trashed by a hit & run driver whilst it was parked up. This had the effect of revealing just how much filler was holding it together.

Fiat Cinquecento from new..it was good fun, in a Mini-kinda-way..did journeys from London to Newcastle quite a few times without ever a problem..20000 miles before I traded it for a Mk 2 Golf Driver(a proper car) at a VAG dealer. Wouldn't have the Fiat back now though, bet 17 years later it is just a pile of rust..bet the Golfs still going strong though..
Hmm undecided, 1983 Datsun Stanza 1.6 GL.
Good points
It was free
Back seats folded flat
Wheelspin in 2nd gear, Important at 17.
Remote boot and fuel flap release.
Foot rest for your left foot.
Five gears (nice gearbox).
Variable intermittent wash wipe.
Always started.
It wouldn't die.
Bad points
Rust
Handled like crap.
Craptastic auto choke.
Clutch so heavy the pedal would snap off frequently, in fact the footrest was probably there to help you get over the clutch.
Biege.
Heater in name only.
In fact the beige bit sways me. Why would you paint a car beige?
