M-sport is a trim level, any bmw can be specced as an m sport, 116d, 118d, 120d, 318d etc. These cars will not have m badges on the rear.

M badged cars however are the performance variant of a particular model series, m2, m3, m4 etc. These do have badges on the rear.

To stick an badge on a 318d is to try and make it look like an m3, being of m-sport spec makes zero difference

Saw a nice, new golf r the other day. With a single rear tail pipe. The future theives of it may be slightly disappointed with the performance I suspect...

I passed a ‘svr’ badged Range Rover sport the other day , wasn’t fast enough with my camera but it wasn’t an Svr. Wrong everything, from what I could tell it was a badged up 3.0 diesel.

He had his music pumping and was big timing it. I wasn’t in my car sadly and going opposite direction .

I know what M sport is. That car is an M sport (trim) and has an M sport badge on it. A M3 badge is different.

The M Sport badge, as somewhat embarrassingly fitted to the front wings of my M235i by BMW, is much smaller than the one on the back of that 3 series smile

Maybe we should get an Aspergers badge for Double D. Although that wouldn't be misbadging would it.

It could be badged up as an 2.0tdi, describes what it is accurately, but isn't the correct badging. That's the point. It doesn't matter if it is what the badge says it is, it isn't what it left the factory with.

I know that some get very upset when they see an m sport badge because they worry that their m wont be seen in the same light. But dont worry its only a badge.

Saw a V6 Clio this morning. I hadn't realised Renault made a 5 door version.
It is definitely a performance model as it even has speed holes either side of the V6 badge.

was this near Lichfield? I've seen a guy around there with a 3.0 diesel HSE (I know this as he has left the HSE and SDV6 badges on) but has stuck a load of SVR badges all over it too, he also drives like an absolute trumpet

I also see a local guy with a 5 series e-drive thing or whatever the hybrid is called, he has stuck numerous M5 badges to it, going by the angry look on his face every time I see him I assume he either regrets putting the badges on or that they were just one of a long list of bad decisions he has made

I thought I saw a unicorn car last week... An ultra-rare (for good reason) AMG R63. The driver was wringing its neck but 1) I could hear engine but it wasn't a glorious V8 2) it was significantly slower than my E500 3) it didn't look right.
With it being such a rare car I had to look it up... 3l diesel. Bah.

youre not up on just how grounded and planned thieves of high end cars are, are you?

quick check underneath for the rear diff, yep this is an R or a look at the R embroidered into the front seat backs should be even more obvious of course they could find a car that some idiot has gone full R replica on with a 1.4 under the bonnet which would take some spotting in the dead of night.
