In fairness, this is an MR2 based replica 355 so by definition is misbadged. But given it’s manual and targa, why put the F1 spider badge on the inside? Rhetorical question...

The old adage with a Ferrari replica 'put Ferrari badges EVERYWHERE' pop down Halfords and get a Ferrari badge air freshener too.

The life of an MR2 Ferrari replica pilot;

7am, alarm clock, awake.
Repeat,
"I drive a Ferrari"
"I drive a Ferrari"
"I drive a Ferrari"
"I drive a Ferrari"

I'm sure over time they really believe they do.

The conversation goes something like this.....
'Shame to let that Subaru rally decal kit go to waste now the car has been sold. I know, let's use it on the Rover. No one will notice and it will look great. What do you think?'

I saw a 66-plate BMW X5 M50D with 2.0D rear badge at a car meet.
Fairly sure it was the top of the range 376 bhp version i asked the owner to make sure i was right. Well i was and i wasn't. It was an M50D but it had 435 bhp courtesy of DMS Automotive.
Asked what the reasoning behind the rear badge change was, he said that Gary-boys in their hot hatches hate it when a 70 year old bloke in a 2 litre diesel 4x4 wastes them regularly.
He's ageing well!
I like the idea of ‘down badging’. That’s cool
agreed. Down badging is for heros. i remember the 700hp+ civic where they left the 1.4s badge on smile
The best example of this I've seen was a Mercedes 500E (clearly a real one) subtly badged as a 200E.
The ultimate stealth car.

I have considered a 220d badge

Following the great success with the "Authorities" X5 spec that BMW have supplied to traffic police teams up and down the country...

it seems there's now an MoD trim for the Armed Forces. Rare X5 MoD up for sale on Car Gurus today cloud9

Seller forgot to remove the 30d XDrive badges from the sides though silly

So technically I guess it's not "mis"-badged as such, but why the need to spell out BENTLEY on the arse end of what is already clearly a Bentley, using those cheap, stick-on letters you get in Halfords?

Unless I missed something and there was some variant of this car that had these as standard, in which case I'll get my coat...

Ouch!

Bentley used to be class and style, now slipped so far into chav and pleb.

Bentley used to be for old men. The company needed to make changes if they wanted to survive.

Is there a brand that hasn't slipped into chav and pleb yet?

I did think Rolls Royce possibly, but then there's the pretty horrific Cullinan which doesn't have much class or style...

Yes, if he'd just stumped up a little bit more and gotten lettering in Times New Roman from eBay I might not even have noticed! smile

No pictures but I saw an 'RSQ8' last week. While I'm no expert I can't seem to find such a car, it comes back as a Q8 TDi when checked. It's a shame because it's a nice car (if SUVs are your kinda thing) it's been kitted out with ABT stuff and has had a few quid spent on it, but fake badges cheapen it a bit tbh.

Not misbadging as such, but magpie badging

This poor thing was covered in stick on chrome crap, badges up the wings, the lot. I've found it's almost exclusively old blokes (55+ say) who do this; were they traumatised that their Cavalier only had 11 badges on the back and not 12 back in the early 90s, while Nigel in the Accounts got the full 12 badges because he had ABS??

2nd photo a bit crap, but you can see the wing badges and stuff on the bonnet too.

Good grief, that's terrible. Stickers, crap badges, those chrome grill replacements. Poor MX5 subjected to such awful tat, the Mk.1 ones were just as susceptible to that kind of abuse.

Pics don't do it justice, it had a chrome "beading" all around the weather stripping too. There were several other cars there with the "Sport 2000" badges affixed in various locations and at various angles too.
