Problem is that the crank hangs below the block so there is no possibility of cross bolting. Even the rover v8 evolved but it had deep block sides in the first place unlike the ford. A girdle does wonders though. Also, oil flow to the main shells reduces as you go towards the front of the engine so that won't help either in a racing application if the oil pump/supply feeds into the engine in the stock place. You can use a dual input.

The engines half an Aston Martins. If I recall correctly this is what the aston (cosworth supplied) V12 is based on.

Wonder what it would be like on a track stripped out with 2 bucket seats.
Like an upside down boat? With wheels and an engine obviously.

It never had a Cosworth badge on the back, just the standard Granada Scorpio badge and a small 24v badge on the bottom right of the boot.

Fond memories of one of these ,my Dad had one for about twelve years. From 2001 till 2004 it was left in Spain usually parked on an industrial estate near Malaga airport and used by any member of the family who was going to my Dad's villa. It always started however many months it had been left and even with 200,000 on the clock would still show 150mph on the downhill stretches of Autopista. It just dissapeared from Malaga one day, whether towed away by authorities(it was still on uk plates with a 4 year old tax disc) or maybe some Spanish car thief is abusing it to this day-either way its back to hired Megane's for my family!!

Very tidy looking motor, got that 'just washed' look about it.

Is there a link to the advert anywhere?

Can't find it in the PH classifieds and I'd expect an auto-trader link to have been posted in the article???

The whole Mk3 granada range was superb on the road (not so much on the track hehe.) My grandad (god rest his soul) had a Mk3 diesel and used it as a taxi for years and done over 300k in it and it was still superb!

I thought they had 'cosworth' in tiny tiny tiny script under the badge? But my memory may be failing me - my Dad had a 1989 'Autumn Gold' 2.9i 4x4 Manual Granada Scorpio with Beige leather circa 1992 - at the time I thought it was great! /puts away rose tinted spectacles smile

They did. Scorpio with a very small plaque shaped 'cosworth' underneath it.

Proof that they did indeed have a Cosworth badge.

The 11bhp is the difference between the early cosworth and the later cosworth.
