Yes, I timed that well, didn't I?http://pistonheads.com/sales/899985.htm
Dicky when i sold my black RS2 i knew id have to buy another within a week of it going...sell and im sure you will regret it...good to see they are still going for the same price as they were 2-3 years ago...maybe the south coast run will be your last outing in yours (unless you see sense and keep her)
An absolutely awesome car. I'll never forget the pace it accelerated from the lights as a passenger. I was lucky enough to be a passenger in one of the original press cars way back in 1994. The memory is still very fresh and I've been seriously thinking about getting one recently.
Initially I was a bit surprised at what they are worth these days but their rarity should ensure zero depreciation. Am I right in assuming that demand for these is pretty high as so few are available? I've never owned a rare car before, my current everyday car is a 535d M Sport.
Are there are any things in particular I should look for?
Also, will an RS2 run happily on normal unleaded?

The RS246 website is brilliant for RS2 info. One of the regular contributors has owned his from new and is very generous with his knowledge. If you go on the site you'll find any number of threads about what to look for and what's good and bad.Initially I was a bit surprised at what they are worth these days but their rarity should ensure zero depreciation. You have to use high octane fuel, no question. Shell V-Power is good but most owners agree that Tesco 99 is the best.
I was lucky enough to own an RS2 for a couple of years (a black one known as the Undertaker Car...) and every car I've ever experienced is now judged against it and found wanting in some way.
There's a good clubby feel to owning one as well. At the Goodwood Breakfast Club on Sunday there were two, one belonging to a guy who helped me with advice when I owned mine and my old one which I sold in the Spring up from West Cornwall. (Despite sying he wanted to keep it standard I reckon he has fitted a warp drive to it; he did 244 miles in three hours and five minutes!!)
Mine was nice when I bought it and a bit better when I sold it. I paid £11,000, drove it 17,000 miles, spent £8,0000 on it and got £12,000 for it - and had an absolutely blistering time with it. Buy one; you won't regret it.
As there are so few for sale you might well have to buy a ropey one but even so repair it back to STD then your not going to lose much. The only drawback with these is the interior does look dated specifically the dash and there is nothing you would want to do to change it so if you dislike it then maybe hot the right car for you?
