Utterly disgusting and pointless car!
You can argue that lots of cars are pointless. My Lotus is pointless because it doesn't fit 4 people, anything that does more than 70mph and isnt used on a track is pointless.....

This is PH, lets not bash a new car just because it isn't something we might want to own/drive. The world would be a dull place if we all drove a Prius.
And why don't you tell us what you drive?
Elise R (weekends), and a 320d M Sport BMW (all in my profile). Why?
Oops, not you sorry, I meant the 'critic' above that you quoted.
Let you off ;-)
hehe

By coincidence a possible change in job circumstances (better job but c.600m a week) means I might be getting rid of my 130i and replacing it with a diesel hack/weekend toy combo. Your pairing is exactly what I had in mind!
Shout if you want more details!

Well here's another one liner (well ...... four).

What's worse than the ugliest most pointless car BMW ever produced?

A faster, even more expensive version of the ugliest most pointless car BMW ever produced.

An SUV coupe? What were they thinking?

Go on ..... slag me off .... I don't care ..... its bloody awful.

I cannot help thinking an M6 CSL with a redesigned engine producing in excess of 600 bhp is really where //M Sport should be drinking their Schanpps.

I'm being converted... I'm starting to love it. When I see an X6 I think of these:

So if the X6M could just come in olive green with just a tiny cannon on the roof I'd be well happy!

Why is it compulsory to like this car just because it uses a lot of petrol and has a big engine?

Surely you would still be able to get around perfectly ok in a Golf Bluemotion which wouldn't use as much petrol?
I'm struggling to think of anything that burns less petrol than a Golf BlueMotion.

Why are there so many people who think it's pointless? Ugly - yes, you don't 'like' the car - fair enough, but calling it pointless? I would say there's a lot of point to it. Too many people jumping on the bandwagon.

I think the point that BMW are trying to prove is that if you throw enough horsepower, rubber, brakes, electronic driving aids and trickery at a 2 tonne "car" you can make it go, stop and corner very fast indeed. Well done BMW, very well done indeed.

Colin Chapman will be turning in his grave.

I have sat in a regular x6 and if they can make a car that big handle the way it can which I admit is impressive, then imagine what they could do if they made another CSL??? That would get me into a BMW for sure

So would I. The point is to carry the huge chav ego's of those that drive them.

They are made for one purpose and one purpose only, to out do the Jones's Audi Q7 ( another piece of 'look at me toss' )and so the owner car say "my car is bigger than yours." It also proves money can't buy class.

Personally i'd be embarrassed to be seen in one and my cars aren't exactly shrinking violets.

Fugly pieces of ste. Every time i see one i can't help but laugh.

Furry muff. I wouldn't have it as my choice of car, but I can see why they decided to make it, that's what I meant with my original post anyway.

One good thing that may come out of this is a high performance development of BMW's version of Active Yaw Control (whatever its called) thats part of the 4 wheel drive system. Its meant to be outstanding on the standard X6. Ive always liked the sound of the 4 wheel drive 3 series they have on the continent ( are they called xi's? So 330xi etc?) and with Yaw Control too that would be great.

I hate SUV's in general but strangely the X6 is the only one I like. Go figure...

Some of the usual idiot posts, I see.

My take: pointless, but hugely impressive. An M3 CSL would be a far better, but less profitable use of M GmbH's resources. Please, BMW, let M GmbH get on with producing a halo sports car that will get around the Nordschleife in 7.40.

So would you say the same about the US muscle car era they were also all pretty pointless cars

but they were the same as the X6 they were design and engineering show cases

No you missed the point of this car, infact any car by a country mile

The point of this car is to make MONEY for whoever makes it
