Well if we're bringing our garlic munching neighbours into this then I'll see your 607 and raise you a €56,429 (£52,732) Renault Vel Satis tongue out

I concede dear fellow....

Though the VelSatis does at least have a certain Je ne sais quoi, some sort of french flair distinctly lacking in the 607.

This:

This is a two litre oil burner that looks like the result of an inflatable toy manufacturer designing a skip. And it's automatic.

A lot to spend on a massively engined and very questionable car...

I've got a BMW X6 xDrive30d for £68,935 biggrin

Nearly £70k for a car with four seats that takes 8 seconds to get from zero to sixty.

Agreed on the JNSQ of the Vel Satis, and the 607 is a real St Bernard of a car!

My favourite thread this year hehe

I love the fact that most of the "builds" seem to be diesel .... That'll appeal to my Dad's neighbour that replaces his car every 2 years for another brand new car (with his own money!), yet always gets a diesel "to save money on running costs" .... He's retired, and hasn't done more than 10k p.a. in the last decade.

Is there a prize for a snapshot of the glasses site showing how much "your" car will retain after 12 months and 12k miles?

Well they don't half make it bloody difficult to get the prices off the website, but I'm going with the following....

Subaru Tribeca 3.0 SE7 Auto - £33,479
Subaru LPG conversion - £4,135
Front parking sensors - £295
Rear parking sensors - £225
Rain Sensor - £210
Puddle lamps - £175
Auto dimming mirror - £175
Beige carpet mats - £75
Dog Guard - £280
Rear cargo tray - £40
Rear tailgate sun shade - £65
Rear door sun shades - £90.01
Rear quarterlight sun shades - £79.99
Rear cargo cover - £125
Plastic bonnet deflector - £80
Chrome side moulding kit - £80
Chrome tailgate moulding kit - £45
Chrome lower tailgate moulding - £50
Chrome window mouldings - £120
Chrome front grille assembly - £140
Chrome front grille assembly, LH side - £80
Chrome front grille assembly, RH side - £80
Moonroof air deflector - £75
Rear bumper cover, resin - £50
Rear bumper corner protectors - £27.50
Side visor set - £135
Sevic Max Twin DVD entertainment system - £349
Smartnav - £500
Subwoofer - £225
19" Alloys (with tyres) - £2,100
Splash guards - £69.95
Refrigerator/Warm box - £110
Towing electrics - £65
Detachable towbar - £365
Roof rack base - £195
Kayak carrier - £110
Roof box (long) - £395
Ski carrier - £95
Bike carrier - £95

Now £45,085.45 is a bargain for such a delightfully attractive vehicle, I hear you cry! Let me therefore add that only the price of the LPG conversion includes fitting. Everything else carries an unspecified additional dealer fitting cost! yikes

I call foul on this one. You seem to have added pretty much all the elements of the Ghia X pack as individual items as well.

Wow! I remember looking at them before we bought the 500 and thinking the £9k it would take to spec one up to the level we wanted was too much!

Now, by all intents and purposes this isn't a bad car. What it is, however, is a £42,000 BMW 318i.

PS- This is rather good fun!
