Thread resurrection time...

I am a cyclist. I was out this morning just before it became hyper hot. It was still super hot, I’m towards end of my ride and going up an incline on quiet B road of good width. I’m riding a foot from curve but I’m flagging slightly so only doing about 10mph. No traffic approaching. Well sighted. Aware of vehicle behind me. Unable to perform an overtake.

I waive them past as they are irritating and as always it’s a lady in her 50s or 60s. Why is it always a middle aged lady. We’re they given a different version of the Highway Code or given different lessons to the rest of the population?

I cannot with anywhere near as much confidence stereotype another behaviour than in the example of the Can’t Overtaker. Close passes, knobbishness and exemplary driving all displayed with no pattern to driver or vehicle type. Yet every time I get someone unable to over take, it is Mrs Miggins.
