Does anyone know how much diesel is on the Continent ATM? Off to France tomorrow and just wondering weather I should fill up in Dover or Calais.

Thanks for that 'arry. Wasn't sure what prices would be with the exchange rates and stuff.

Was low 90's most of the time the other week.

This was in the South West.

So it is quite a bit cheaper than here.

So nothing in it then. I may as well fill up in Dover then and get my clubcard points then.

That looks like the petrol price, not diesel.

I just checked the diesel prices at the Carrefour
at City Europe.

93 Eurocents, or about 88 p a litre.

Bargain, and the French get the profit.

Might be regional but where we are I can't even think of a Shell garage and I used to use V Power all the time in the UK........

Yes you can, but not all of the Shell stations stock it. When I ran a DERV I found V Power horrid stuff. BP Ultimate and Total Excellium Diesel is widely available.

"Data sourced - ERIC/USA Av August 2005"

Sterling has collapsed since then. I was paying the equivalent of £1.30 a litre last weekend for (albeit 98 Octane) unleaded in Germany. That website is showing 90p.

The AA site here is more up to date. Giving diesel in France as EUR1.07

Derv is cheaper in France, petrol is more expensive. Fill up at Carrefour at Cite Europe and you'll save about 8p a litre.

Was in Belgium a couple of weeks ago and it was in the low 90's - so cheaper over there but not too much difference.

In the end it was €0.93 at Carrerfour in Calais and €0.89 in Belguim so still saves about a fiver per tank over filling up in the UK.

Dragging this one up from the archives:
We're off to the Alps soon and have been scouting round for prices. Following one of the links on this thread it showed this one as useful: http://www.prix-carburants.gouv.fr/index.php

As before the hypermarkets are showing EUR 0.10 - 0.12 below autoroute stations.

Can anyone local confirm it's accuracy please? Marcellus, we're off to La Clusaz and visit Cluses occasionally so you're info would be useful?

Thanks smile

€1.50 eek fk!

ETA: That French site is showing diesel at €1.24 (ish) a litre at the hypermarkets and €1.36 (ish) on the autoroutes.

I paid €1.31 for diesel immediately prior to Christmas. So about £1.15 per litre. Another 15p a litre here.
