I heard there is a left hand drive M3 'GT2' or Imola Individual out there, can somebody confirm this?
RHD here?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1998-S-BMW-M3-EVOLUTION-GT2-...
Proper M3 GTs struggle to make a round 5 figures.

But has anybody heard of a LHD version of a GT2?
There was never a 'GT2' and the DKR E36 that poses as such is in fact a fraud! <que dramatic music>. Rather its correct name is ‘Imola Individual’ and alas it was but a marketing special to flog the last E36 M3’s as the Millennium approached. I make no apologies for finding this car utterly reprehensible, because it is one of the few ///Ms that purports to be something it is not, helped in no small part by dealers who allowed buyers to think they were getting something just a little bit special. The bastids!
If you want a LHD GT M3, you’ll be needing the puka homologation 3.0 GT which was/is a proper piece of kit and differs from the standard M3 thus:
- Ported and polished head
- Madras strength cams
- Reprofiled exhaust manifold
- Revised suspension and geometry
- adjustable front splitter
- Biplane rear wing
- Special
sewageBRG paintwork

Incidentally, a GT3 update:
I should hopefully be getting the car back today albeit a severly out of pocket.
Also, I had a very interesting conversation with a chap yesterday who had read my post in the Pork section. He had also been to look at my car not long before I bought it, test drove it with a mate and walked away from the deal offered by Byfleet on the grounds that both he and his companion (both seasoned 911 enthusiasts) deemed the clutch to be stiff and juddery…
Indeed, he also confirmed that the technician who had prepared it (who in his words; looked like a 17 year old YTS lad) could not get the car back into the showroom by account of the juddery clutch which was severe enough to make the car skip and hop as it was manoeuvred back into the dealership. In the end, the sales manager had to do it himself and with some difficulty.
The chap, who had seen my post on Pistonheads and subsequently got in touch, also commented that the salesman who sold me the car told him that despite some possible faults with the car(s), he was not to worry because Byfleet “were able to warranty just about anything on account that they were a new dealership and are therefore allowed to get away with more than the established dealers”. He has since told Byfleet not to contact him again.
I have been promised all this in writing.

Do they have an element of increased steering feel over the vanilla M3?
If they do, then surely for those who are fully paid up members of http://www.beards.org this has to be the one to go for. More simple vanos, genuine limited edition changes with the driver in mind and a bonafide opportunity for serious car geek oneupmanship over your mainstream E36 bretheren...
