The man, the myth, the legend.

New owners were the test drivers of TVR's in his reign of the icon.

Reckon a Blackpool meet should be organised in respect of Mr Wheeler.

R-I-P to the man who did so much for TVR...

What a sad loss at such a young age
Even though I am now TVR-less, for the first time in ten years, I still retain my passion for TVR's - such is the spirit that he instilled
I feel privileged to have owned a piece of his legacy
Deepest condolences to his family

We are very sad to hear this. We can only thank him for our beloved Cerbera and the great moments at Le Mans both when the cars finished and did not finish.

Given the fact that this guy lead his team at TVR to make mad, loud, exciting & very fast cars that could be enjoyed by the common man, not just the stupidly rich + HE WAS BRITISH, leading a british brand against the might of the italians, germans etc .... british grand prix this weekend .... 1 min silence for PW before the green lights??

Am very sorry to hear of Peter's passing, he was a nice guy and for whatever faults I think his heart was always in the right place and you can't argue with the TVRs he left behind.

I think from one Sim VIP to all others out there, this guy brightened our lives up no end, on another sad and very pertinent point, I would urge you all to visit your local graveyards this week and see exactly what the average age is for our moving on.
I've got no doubt you'll get a shock, so enjoy what you have and like Peter live life to the fullest, a happy life is not a wasted one.

God bless Peter.

He gave us the opportunity to drive cars that required respect, and brought smiles to many many car enthusiasts and the everyday man, woman and child.

The smiles and waves I got when driving my tuscan, obviously gave pleasure to those who saw the cars as something special, and they were and always will be.

He brought the cars out of the kit car era, and into the super car erea.

Were they unreliable........ Yes, but aren't most supercars.

I take off my hat to him and the guys and girls that he encouraged to work for him.

Very Sad. frown

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but by all accounts he was a gentleman.

A big loss.

I knew Peter as a friend since 1987, and he was a very smart individual who knew what he wanted. The best cars TVR produced were because of his vision.
I knew he was still working on projects after TVR, and its a shame it had to end at 64 yrs old.
His legacy will still be on the roads and appearing at shows for many years to come, and I think he would like that as an epitaph..
