any vehicle that can be linked to a sucessful (or not) tv series or film will command good money. I expect several vehicle collections/museums would be happy to have it!
...maybe so that people who watch East Enders and Coronation Street and Big Brother can go and pay to get in to see a car they can see elsewhere for nothing. Don't get that either. IMO The Professionals was quality TV - fast paced and believable ,with two well developed lead characters .Very watchable stuff ,and still so today-,I'd say it was ahead of its time ,TV wise .I don't think it has dated much as a programme (other being obviously from the early 80's era visually) and it was highly influential at the time.

I see it has not even reached reserve at £9250! Still ,as a car synonomous with the series (close run with the RS2000 's though) it will be interesting to see what it goes for!
As an aside ,the TV series was responsible for silver 3 litre S Capris being horribly expensive at one time.....

]153BHP from a std essex 3.0L, I dont think so, maybe 143 on a really really cold day, I used to build these engines in the early 90's and std form at best is 140...
[/quote] me too, cant help having a soft spot for this lump, lots of low down torque and plenty of character i think the Capri owes plenty to the Essex, the Cologne may of been quicker(just)but it was gutless low down and plain flat that price is just

Most of the professionals capri's are ringers anyway. Re-shelled at best.
Back in the day, when most cars were scrapped the DVLA never got notified. So, all someone had to do was fill in a form and they'd relatively easily get a V5 in their name - even if the car no longer existed. Once they have the V5 doc, they have the chassis number and job done.
Find a similar car, whack a new VIN plate and set of number plates on it and suddenly you have a 'professionals' capri, even though Bonehead and Foyle have never been near it. This one is supposedly a genuine one, but knowing of the guy who 'found' it, I'd get it well checked over.
If you look at the pics of the car in the professionals clip, it has no front headlamp washers, yet in 2009 they are present and correct. Seems to me to be a strange modification someone would make......
You pays your money.

3.0l V6 156 BHP? really?
sleeper anyone?
A sleeper? Have you ever seen, let alone heard one?sleeper anyone?
That Essex V6 on straight pipes is spine-tingling, and suits the inyerface image of the car perfectly.
and as for HP it depends on the year original 3000 GT's up to Oct 1971 were only 128bhp...
After this date all 3 litres were 138 bhp including the 3000s built up to 81.
even the re-bored RS3100 were only 148 bhp it was the German RS2600 injection that was higher at 150bhp
The 2.8i was 160 hp with turbo technics conversion pushing it over 200bhp.
