I thought the RS was stolen during filming and not recovered. With the next episode peppered with references to Doyles missing car.

Correct - I know the guy personally (I also own the Professionals Lounge he moderates on) and I've seen the car which is stored away having a lengthy restoration.

The RS being stolen is an old wives tale.
