When you look at what Maserati have done (and what it looks like Aston will do with the Rapide), you have to wonder how many customers will be left for Porsche. It's really very, very ugly, and cheaper cars offer more space, pace and looks. Why does the Panamera even exist?
Couldn't agree more - but look at the Cayenne! People still bought those, for some reason beyond me.Edited by joz8968 on Tuesday 30th June 14:34
Not too keen on it, however allot of cars in the flesh do look better..I reserve my judgement until I see one close up..
I would agree that people buying these, are concious of the cars styling, however many will go for it just because of the badge... Sad but true.. I am sure the Turbo version would be a hoot to drive, until you get out and look at it....

Drove a Cayman today, I love Porsche, always have since i was a kid and saw the moody black ones in Condorman and was smitten since. On first impression the cayman has no drama. Secondly the interior is quite frankly Korean, and not the good side of the DMZ. i did like the little brolly you got in the passenger seat though, nice touch. Other than that, i found it quite an uneventful car, both to be in and drive. Is this what modern Porsche are now? I remember seeing a 928 GTS a few weeks ago and thinking phwor! The Panamera is the emperors new clothes, as was the Cayenne last time round. It will sell because people are quite frankly, sheep. I'd much rather have a car that makes your heart beat faster just imagining looking at it.

I wish they'd stop mimicking the 911 shape on something that isn't a 911.
I agree, they have simultaneously created an ugly new thing, whilst devaluing their attractive existing thing.Much like the abomination that is the cayenne, which they stratched upwards, this one they stretched backwards.
Could they not just design a 4x4, or a 4 seater saloon without making it look like they have loaded a shot gun full of corporate design cues and fired it at a range rover/mondeo/whatever

Interesting write up, sounds similar to other feedback I have read. As a potential customer I agree that the colour combo will be very important come order time. The rear end being the main problem for me. I think it will be GT Silver + RS Spyders for me... (PDK 2S)
Oh, and come on guys - can we take some better pics next time, maybe even a couple of interior shots? They are border line diabolical IMHO... constructive feedback and all...
After watching the video above I have to agree on the colour sensitive comment. It doesn't look half as bad in white. Still not exactly a looker, but then again neither is an m5...Oh, and come on guys - can we take some better pics next time, maybe even a couple of interior shots? That thing could win an Ugly Competition though. If there's one at Goodwood, I'm going to run up to the thing and put a brown paper bag over it. Then stand at a distance, point and go "Arrrrrghhhhhh, my eyes!!"
