I won't say it looks aweful, but it's certainly not pretty. And i seem to recall Evo's review of the ZR1 wasn't terribly positive last month. Hard to see the point, but maybe it looks better in the flesh and handles better than the original.

Lets hope the car does not get out of shape going into a fast corner and hit a crash barrier at the ring, then again would anyone care?
Could be problematic - how would the marshal be able to tell what was the crash barrier and what was the car?

Despite people's opinon on the styling, this car is a one off from a respected car designer.
That doesn't automatically make it deserve respect though.
Perhaps not, but I think that the endeavour deserves absolute respect, and it gets mine.

Bloke chooses to build own car, invests significant time, money and energy, and then decides that he'll invest even more just to prove a point around a race track? Surely that's just the sort of noble effort in pursuit of motoring nirvana (whilst singularly not giving a damn what anyone thinks of you for it) that should make any self respecting PH'er sit up and take notice?

The looks aren't for me, but have a massive clap and bow from me for making your dream come true Dan.

Fans sucking air from underneath the car? Banned in F1 many moons ago for producing too much downforce.

Awesome!.

Well it kind of does, because he's put in decades of hard graft to be referred to as a 'Respected Designer'.

We'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but if it flops at the ring (unlikely, based on the ZR1 performance and the enhancements to this beasty) then everyones gonna crucify him.

Didn't they use that on the Maclaren F1 too? Respect to the 'gentleman racer' for doing this. The thing looks CRAZY, and strangely brilliant in my opinion even if its arse has been beaten with the ugly stick.

The guy designed the Ferrari 599, and that gorgeous Pininfarina Birdcage concept from a few years back.

Although this creation definitely puts form about 300th on its list of priorities...

Interesting to see this car at Goodwood, as it's definitely one of those designs that looks much, much better in reality than in any of the photos I've seen. Anyone who saw it there agree?
yeah. hear hear

that porka panama is MASSIVE tho dont you think ?
Yeah, the Red thing looked like a bit of a custom job, especially not having a badge slapped on the front.

And If that was a top of the range Panamera 4S, they look like ste barges.

Is that the wiring you can see IN the headlight?

I absolutely agree that the endeavour deserves respect and I respect the designers portfolio and pedigree, but this creation....no! I don't care if he carved 'David' whilst penning the original blue prints for the internal combustion engine!

The roof reflected in the glass covering the headlights, you can see the same pattern in the windscreen.

Well.well, who would have thought it???
All this sweat , money and non standard effort by Nissan, Merc, BM,Porche and now Bertone. In an effort to build a car that will go quicker around the "daddy of all twisty race circuits" in the world. Than an American car straight off the production line in Kentucky. ????????

Must be a message there somewhere ?? Good luck Dan and well done car looks ace..clap

The rear of that car looks like a cross between the face of an original Cylon from Battlestar Gallatica 1970s and the Preditor. scratchchin ETA: Beaten to the same conclusion by Yeti! smile
