Registration looks good too!

B80 BBO by the looks of it......great if your name is BOB and you're dyslexic.

Friend had one at uni, cost him £50 needs a new clutch but after that it ran on and on and is still going to my knowledge with 200k+ miles on it. Affectionately known as the Hoff.

Err no. A German Cortina would be be a Ford Taunus made in Germany. It looks pretty much exactly like a Cortina because because they are the same design.

Nice car. My friend's old man had one back in the day but it seemed to be a turbo version (?). It had a little dial which seemed to be boost pressure or something which seemed awesome to me at the time (I was about 8 I think!).

I had a fern green 1600 with a green interior - nicer than it sounds, followed by one of the early sports in white. One of the best cars I've owned. Made a mistake by trading it against a Montego EFi. frown

My dad had one of these back in the day and I learnt to drive in it. Great alternative to a golf gti if a boot was required. Tended to plough on a bit in corners as it suffered from serious understeer.

I'm well aware of what a Taunus is. The same era Audi 80 is pretty much a dreary FWD Cortina clone.

Almost a foot narrower than a Fiesta? Come off it!
1984 Audi 80 Sport: L 4406mm W 1682mm

2009 Fiesta: L 3950mm W 1973mm (according to What Car)

Apologies if it is wrong paperbag
Hmm. Your figure for the Fiesta includes the wing mirrors. I doubt the figure for the Audi does.
You say that, but the new fiestas HUGE! Definitely wider than my Ital.

Garlick that is a beauty!

But much as I love the 80 Sport (if only it was laser red) I'm getting a strange lustful feeling for a Passat GL5...

Mr Man? Is that my new name? hehe

I really thought this was worth the £1000 being asked, but some say no? I'd buy this for a grand but I suspect it may feel quite slow by today's standards.

I used to have the Audi 80s nerdy cousin, the VW Santana. I'd never seen one before I'd bought it and I've never seen one since. Had the 5 pot engine though and was quite a hoot to drive.

Remember a guy in my sixth form had an 80 CD with all the extras (electric windows and sunroof) and a 5 pot engine. Sounded great and we all thought he was a spoilt git!!
I had one of these too. It was the second car I'd owned, and quite a trade up from the Fiat 126paperbag I'd learnt to drive in! The 2ltr engine pulled well. I remember racing a Jag for miles down the M1 at 120mph+ (not big or clever, but I was young!)
I paid £800 for it and sold it 9months later for £875biggrin

...apart from the Taunus Coupe. In fact, they were never really the same design until the Mk IV. The Mk III Taunus had Mk IV style flanks.

Anyway, why are these "gem" cars never round here.

Brings back memories - had a white one on a B plate. Bit of a shed back then but went well. One thing i do remember is the turning circle which was nearly as bad as my old tiv wink
