Oh look, it's a Lotus. Or a Noble. Saleen? Farbio? (god what a stupid name - like some holiday destination waiter trying to fiddle your sister).

Guess it's only fair to wait until it's unveiled fully, but if the renderings are close to accurate it's booooring. Generic mid-engine supercar shape that every 13-yr old spotty kid would draw.

Horses for courses I suppose, but hard pressed to see why anyone would choose one over a 458; even if there's a 1/10th of a second advantage here and there or a pointless fast ring time. Still, guess it makes that fugly Noble seem even more ridiculously pricey.
Correct! As you say "booooring" as metal rusting.

I thought it was going to be a NA 5.5 based on the old Merc block reworked by Cosworth/Mahle for circa 600BHP.
That's what I'd been hearing as well.
Noting to do with Cosworth/Mahle

You not seen the 911 v GT-R threads?
Probably the closest car. Cheapish weildy sit upright

Any of the R8, Masersatis etc as said before, miss the things the 911 does so well by trying to be F430/Gallrdo competitors

I signed up to their email invitation and got a failed mail message returned caused by their email server being broken! Let's hope the car is more successful frown

Some judge cars on their performance and engineering, others judge cars just on their looks. If there were more people in the former category, and less in the latter, then perhaps the vast range of overweight luxury tourers masquerading as sports cars might be rebalanced a little towards the genuine driver.

Though it also depends which 911 you are comparing with. Most folks seem to focus on the Turbo - as it has the big power numbers - but many folks (like me) are completely uninterested in that and are interested in the GT3 "segment".
There are a bunch of competitors that seem to pitch themselves against the Turbo (GT-R most notably) - and fewer to the GT3. Also, there's loads of talk about the GT-R "beating" the Turbo on performance (and I guess it does) - but less talk of which is the more satisfying or challenging drive - and in fact I think that is a more subjective, but more important element.

Terrible time to launch a car, though. frown

Reminds me of the fate that met the Cizeta-Moroder.
Although it looked like a Diablo rip off, this car was much cooler than the Diablo as it not only had pop up headlights, but a second set of pop up headlights, and we here at PH know this to be the ultimate feature of a car

It's time to come to the realization that Gordon Murray's peak was the McLaren F1.

This car looks almost exactly the same, generally speaking. What a letdown.

Sounds nice though! If it is wrong, what is right?
I can't say, but it's announced soon anyway.
I don't get it, all the Mags are releasing these stats now?

Could it be possible that you are wrong? Are you thinking of on eof the other future models?
