I can't tell what modelling program was used but the latest image looks like it might have been rendered in 3D Studio Max. Amazing texture and lighting effects on the ground to the right.
that guy clearly has a lot of attention to detail. I think he might even modelled a whole circuit to add that sense of place, but has cut it out of the picture in the end. good man!

Got a reply from Pagani, thanking me for my email.

They have been in touch with their lawyers who are looking into it for them.

I was enjoying this thread.

Ah, once again the 'you're such a loser' comments come out. Well, once you've designed something of your own, taken the time to patent it, and have someone try to rip it off, come back to me.

I have had that situation, and it pissed me off mightily.

It's free money for stealing someone's intellectual property, not cool.

Yes, but was he going to make it and sell it as a replica, or was it a model for himself?

Did you ask this?

Presumably the customer was going to buy one from Pagani for 300 odd grand but is instead now going to buy it from the OP for the same amount of money thereby significantly impacting Horacio's financial position?

No? Thought not.
I bet Beefmeister is the kind of kid that grassed people up for copying maths homework

Water <- Duck's back.

You're all completely missing the point. It's not about 'grassing someone up'.

The guy was stealing a copyrighted design. I'm a very easy going guy, not as anyone has suggested above.

Its just this that annoys me. There were a few brave souls who agreed with me earlier in the thread, but i don't need vindication. Say what you will, i really don't care.

Love and kisses.

I think Pagani would me more woried if they were the only supercar brand whitout replica's!

As for Pagani, I hope they can crush this fibreglass rip off, the problem is they will never be able to crush all the rip offs people are making all over this planet.

If so, and I know one PH'er who has one, I'd like one in the Christmas stocking please.

Phil
Are you thinking of this one(below), owned by a PH'er?

Is so, it's not actually a Dauer, but a "Derek Bell signature 962 roadcar", according to him smile

My favourite member's car!

Hi everyone.
I have built a kitcar from scratch and am basing the body on a Zonda too. I built the car from scratch, starting with a Jag V12, made a chassis etc.. The challenge for me was not to make a zonda or a fezza, but to make something from nothing, or just junk.
My car is a twin turbo jag V12 zonda thing.. I have never understood why you would put a F360 bodyshell on a Peugeot, or Mr2, but i do understand why you would take a load of parts and make a replica (if that makes sense).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFzTsEO1XQE&fea...

I did write to Pagani about my car, and they replied! I asked if they had any bodyshell components that were not quite good enough for real use (the email is probably worth more than the car)

.. this is the whole un-edited email.

Dear Mr. Truman,

we thank you for your attention.

Unfortunately we don't have any "second choice" body - you certainly know that we have a final quality control very strict so all imperfect parts are destroied.

Best regards.

Hi
I wrote to you a while ago about a project I was making with my sons; unfortunately we haven't heard anything back from you! We are at a point now where we need help to construct a body shell, so any help you can offer would be awesome!!

Kind regards

Nick

Subject: Zonda C12 replica
Importance: High

Dear Sirs,
Please excuse my strange request but I need to ask a question, and I hope you can give it some consideration.

I live in the UK, near London, and with my two young sons we have built a replica kit car based on the dimensions of a C12 Zonda. The chassis is powered by a twin turbo 5.3l Jaguar V12, which we hope will produce about 500 bhp. The chassis is a very light spaceframe chassis and is all but complete now, what is missing is a body!
We were wondering whether Pagani have any 2nd hand/reject body shells that they would be willing to donate to a very worthy and honourable family project.

Kind regards

Nick
