so what we are saying here is basically all cars rust?!
Agree. On the Ka's - yes OLDER ones rust around the fuel cap....but the key word is older.

According to one review - the sill rust is confined to older Ka's and Ford have a 6yr anti-perforation- warranty anyway????
If it's any help, I have a 02 plate Ka to go to work in (60 mile round trip) and it has one scab of rust on the inside of the passenger door and thats it. I think if you keep them clean and give them some care they are ok...

I have seen some though that are shocking.
A colleague of mine got rid of an '03 Ka about a year ago and it had rust around the fuel cap, the sills and door bottoms all starting to come through.

indeed we had a 54 plate Sportka that had rust on the wings, boot and sills.
otherwise it was immaculate, but god knows how long the car would have lasted.

I'd place more value on the chassis than the look of the body work though!

my sister has a sportka, absolutely zero rust and she doesnt treat it with much care. dont they have a 6 or 10 year anti corrosion warranty anyway?

Jaguar XK8s are failing on front floor pans and inner sills.
X types should be failing too, but thats just personal opinion.
As an owner of an old X-Type, I will have to disagree with you sir.

As a regular on various Jaguar/X-Type forums, rust is never mentioned as a problem.
I think he meant that he doesn't much care for x types, not that they rust away.

Noticed that Mazda6s rot round the rear wheel arches. Same goes for the MK1 Mazda3s as well.
