I just went to PC world (OK ok I know but it's spitting distance from the house) and it wasn't until I hunted around for a space and parked up that I noticed 2 "Collect @ Store" spaces right outside the front door. silly

Bit of a grey area
I know some people will fling open their doors into other cars in carparks but its still a major pain in the arse in a busy car park when you see people parking like this.
I tend to just park at the quiet end away from the other cars.
When that happens, just get a couple of old minis and park either side of them hehe

Give him a break, his driveway and house are tiny! wink

Every other morning the end of my street is half blocked by a co-op truck unloading, very unnerving as you're turning onto a busy road and you can see absolutely nothing!

How about if you pay for 2 spaces?

Last time I was back in the UK I was lucky enough to borrow a Bentley for a few days and did exactly that when I had to park in a multi-storey.

I'm sure there were a lot of busy bodies thinking 'look at that knob taking up 2 spaces'. However I'd paid for them.

I can at least undersatnd if not condone doing that if you own a supercar. But some old repmobile? does anyone really worship the mighty 318i so much?
cough* That is incredibly hypocritical. Just because you think the 318i is a stemobile doesn't mean it isn't someones P&J. That exact mindset is held by the people who ding YOUR doors. Like the yummy mummy in her vw toe-rag who throws her door open into your car, because anything that isn't a 4x4 is ste and doesn't matter wink

Doesn't mean he should park like that, just pointing out the error of your ways.

They probably thought it was a space for short cars as that's why they've put the dashed lines there. FFS

Bah none of the above are really trying, I give you the Huge Yank Truck. Yep it was parked (you can see the drivers door open).

Now the council have painted yellow lines from behind the Mondeo to the blue thing to give those people heading towards the camera somewhere to pull into when cars apppear from round the corner (normally at speed). Naturally the lazy morons round me still park where they want to save themselves the extra 100 yard walk or even the additional wear and tear of actually turning into the carpark (hidden behind the truck)

Although I admit it's parked inconveniently, isn't that van actually parked legally when it wouldn't be legal parked on the kerb?

You seem to be suggesting that he should park his van on the kerb. I'm sure any pedestrians walking past would very much enjoy having to wander into the busy road to get past his van.

People on my road have been asking for years to get cars to park on the road rather than on the pavement, who cares if you (shock horror) have to stop to wait for a gap to get past.

I've got to admit to parking like a t*t tonight by using two spaces. I backed nicely into a space, but didn't think about my mate in the passenger seat who's on crutches. There was no chance of him getting out without banging the car next to us, so as the car park was quiet, I drove forward, and reversed again, this time over two spaces. I had a stupid woman giving me evils as if she was wanting to park in once of the spaces I took. Didn't she see my mate struggling to get out of the car? rolleyes

To be honest, had I seen my car abandoned over two spaces, I would have probably thought "typical irresponsible 4x4 driver", but just occasionally there is a good reason!

Spotted in my local B&Q car park. Granted it was quiet and there were no other cars near it, but if it was so quiet then why not just park like a normal person?

Living on a turning head on a council estate we have more than our fair share of bad parking.

The view from the driveway shows the row of cars who park IN FRONT of their garages (because their garages are too full of st that they have bought with all their benefit money) and then this visitor has decided to park behind that lot too. Always people visiting the same house, and we have asked them many times not to do it, with a mixture of bad and worse results. Can't wait to move away when house prices pick up.

This is it on another day. Note that there is a complete row of three cars blocking our driveway here:

I hate hate HATE council residents. My house currently stinks at vomit inducing levels of garlic AGAIN, thanks to our lovely eastern european workshy tt next door.

I could add 5 pages to this thread following a quick 1 mile walk around where I live hehe One thing that astounds me though, is the number of people who will leave their car parked with a little bit of their tyre on the curb, therefore squashing the sidewall and then just leave it there!!

I'll repost this. smile ...not something you see every day.

As I'd suggested before, I can only assume that the same person/household owned both cars. They were parked outside a busy residential street in NW London.
